Rocket Hog Race?

Just got back into playing H4, and some friends are as well. Was wondering if this fun gametype was available?

We always had a blast with laughs, while still playing “competitively”.

So far, no. Hopefully it makes a comeback though. I absolutely loved it in Reach.

Unfortunately, I don’t think any map would really be all that great for Rocket Hog Race anyway, asides from Ragnarok. Typically, Rocket Race seems to work best on open maps like Sandtrap and Hemorrhage, and there doesn’t seem to be many maps like that in Halo 4.

Oh Rocket Race, how I would go to the dashboard every time you where voted.

When Sept. 3rd comes around, I’ll be working with the updated Ricochet forge labels in a vain attempt to recreate Rocket Race. If all goes well, we WILL get it back.

Exile, Harvest, Wreckage, Shatter, Perdition, and Outcast would work fine. Vortex and Daybreak would probably work too. Forge Island should be able to supply Race maps as well.

Exile isn’t really open though, it’s just a circle. There’s only one way to get to an objective, which is to follow the one path. Not to mention that it’s rather small too.

Harvest could possibly work, but seeing as how it’s DLC, it would rarely ever show up. I was thinking of the non-DLC maps. You know, the ones we could actually play on. That’s why I didn’t include Shatter, which would be perfect for it.

However, Oucast, Wreakage and Perdition have a lot of close quarters vehicle combat, and not really any big open areas like Sandtrap.

However, you’re right about Vortex, it could potentially work well enough. Same goes for Longbow, actually, but I’d definitely have to see it for myself (not that it’s possible, mind you) before coming to that conclusion.

In any case, I’m still sad that Rocket Race isn’t in Halo 4, despite it not being as great for it as Halo 3 and Reach. It’s an amazing gametype that I miss very dearly, and I would love to see it return in the future.
