On the map, Vortex, the Rocket Hog is placed in the center.
Both teams are supposed to fight for it obviously.
But each team is given a Warthog and Wraith.
The only reason players would fight for the Rocket Hog is if it were more powerful.
Do you think the Rocket Hog may have been improved?
How much?
Would a more powerful Rocket Hog be a good thing?
I would assume it was improved. It was a joke in Reach and the only real things it did was toss players and vehicles around for a bit. Barely did any damage unless you just kept spamming.
If you spammed, you killed infantry in 2 shots (though sometimes only 1 shot did the trick, but rarely). Hogs and Revenants in 3 or 4. Mongooses and Ghosts took 2 or 3. Wraith and Scorpion took it like bosses. And Banshees and Falcons took 3 or 4.
If it’s in the middle of the map however, it must be more powerful than Reach’s. The only Vehicles that go in the center of the map for players to fight for are the powerful ones. It wouldn’t make sense to put the RocketHog there if it was just as weak as Reach’s because then no one would go for it or fight for it.

Bungie Halo 1’s blood gulch, Rocket in the center, go play boys
343I Halo 4’s Vortex, Rocket Hog in the center, go play boys!

That awkward moment when you spend 4 minutes of epic battle trying to get it, dying constantly, to finally win it hop in, to find out 343 is laughing manically and the thing shoots Styrofoam cups.

In Halo: Reach the map Mt Lam Lam has a rocket hog in the centre.
> rocket hog is kind of useless and weak, that’s why no one uses it.
No its hidden away on one side under a building and behind a sheild door. Play KOTH on that map and whenever the hill is near it it gets used as people can actually see it.
Its still not very good though. It has extra auto aim with the sniper that isnt as good as the Revenant but has more range with the auto aim.

Halo CE’s Multiplayer was made last, and rushed. Map weapon placement cannot be fully reliable in design for that game. Though even then, having Rockets inside the bases can mean a good Flag defense/offense.
> In Halo: Reach the map Mt Lam Lam has a rocket hog in the centre.
That particular part of the map design is flawed. There is no reward for getting that Hog. No reward, nor motivation, to go get it, thus keeping players away from that particular part of the map.
Play with/against good players. They completely avoid the Vehicle and don’t even go to that spot except for an emergency escape route because you stand on the back of the base. The building can be used effectively for Flag Caps/Defends. However, randoms (or at least smart ones) will completely avoid that building because there’s no incentive. There’s no good Vehicles to grab. And while the building can be used effectively, it’s ignored/useless in a non-teamworking game.
If there was a good Vehicle there, more people would be there. More people would fight for that building. More people would defend that building for the next respawn.

Haha, I wish 343 really would throw in some joke vehicles and weapons like this in Forge. I would love it if there was a nerf gun that shot suction cup darts!
