I just watched the September update and was surprisingly impressed. I really like that 343i identified the problem with the DMR, but I do believe the actual DMR should still make a return. We can design maps where it’s use doesn’t break balance and become too oppressive like it was in 4 and 5.
The stealth event was also a highlight. I always enjoyed having active camo off spawn in Halo 4, but ever since Halo 5 dropped the stealth play style was effectively dead. Now there is a mode that is actively encouraging such a play style on the horizon. That paired with the announcement of nav-mesh support for Forge, and further Forge related news I can’t help but feel excited.
My only concern is that the monetization problem was not addressed whatsoever. I’m hoping that maybe they’re just focusing on stabilizing content output, progression, and Forge for now but intend to address it soon. Even just a “hey we’re looking to add options for items to be earned via gameplay” would be good. Regardless the September update is very good news.
Humans are creating this incredible game and they must be treated as such. This game towards release remember was through a global pandemic and had to be halted and adjusted.
I like how the community as a whole is fine with the entire game being delayed, but when it comes to post-launch content being delayed everyone treats it like they committed cardinal sin.
I know it’s frustrating that it’s taking this long, but this stuff doesn’t just get moved back for no reason. Developing Halo Infinite is nowhere near the same beast as developing the earlier Halo games. So much more technicality at hand, even simply launching with crossplay and crossave is impressive for a game these days. To my knowledge, not even Bungie has managed to get crossplay and crossave on Destiny (haven’t checked in a while but my case still stands).
The only thing we can really do at this point is wait and either keep playing Halo with friends or play something else like I am. I can also say that generally speaking 343 has been pretty good about being truthful with fans. Working in a team based project like the video game industry is extremely difficult so it’s understandable that schedules change and nothing is ever set in stone…one misstep or unfortunate setback can duck up weeks of work only for them to go back to the drawing board.
You should watch the video they just put out on youtube, it explains both of those questions. It’s not like they have all of this content already made and ready to launch right here and now. This is a constant cycle of plan, create, test, test, test, recreate, test, test, test, get certified and then wait the weeks that Microsoft makes them wait in order to launch a single update whether small or large.
It was also stated that Season 3 is going to be the end of the long af seasons and they’ll start being 16 weeks long afterwards.
You couldn’t have hit the nail on the head any stronger/harder. Roadmaps are ALWAYS subject to change. I’m very happy with this new roadmap and I really hope that the 343i studios is able to as close as possible to hit these various items through the coarse of the next months/ year.
Bro what kind of drugs are you on and where do I get em. I hope you do realize that gears 5 campaign is split screen on both PC and Xbox and the recommended specs are nearly identical for both games. Hell the Slipspace engine is just an evolution (should I say bastardation) of the blam! engine that’s been running halo since the beginning. There is no excuse!
Was mentioned in the august drop pod. We were informed that some “under the hood” was done to make it possible. I hoped that we would get some more information with the new roadmap.
