Ok

Content and goals yeah thats great. Timeline absolutely too long. Its a good thing I guess I am going to be overseas for 3 months starting October because I am apparently not missing much

The stuff coming looks great.

Forge!

And while the Nov 7 date isn’t too galling (Forge!)… and the Winter stuff is a nice bonus… the delay of Season 3 to March 2023 is a bitter pill.

So what season 3 is delayed. Apparently content makes the game so dead. Yeah halo 3 didn’t even had that much customization and you still have so many people playing. The industry is too demanding. Look at the Marvel movies. So many coming out that their VFX artists are so stressed out. This is the same pressure being applied onto 343. Have some decency and remember they are human. And timelines change. It could be even shorter. Big things may come sooner. They don’t want to over shoot and not deliver.

The roadmap feels a bit like a glass half full situation. While it’s reassuring to see the team at a place where they’re confident enough to place a stake in the ground on this stuff, by the time all the things in this roadmap through to the end of Season 3, we’ll still be at a deficit of content compared to that of previous games.

I have no reason to play Infinite. I feel like I’ve experienced all there is to it by now. I know the devs are busting their butts to make this right, but that doesn’t mean I owe them my time.

I want to feel the urge to sink a few bucks into some pretty armor, but that urge doesn’t come unless I have the will to start the game up first.

I think customization is nice and all, but what made me play Halo 3 back in the day was the breadth of game-types and mechanics to engage in. Halo Infinite doesn’t have this yet and won’t have this for quite a while, even with Forge coming we’ll have to script our own infection maps until the game-type is officially brought over.

I agree that the industry is extremely demanding, to a fault, but as the consumer I need something to keep me coming back. I’m merely asking for parity with previous titles.

Really though? Even though they put a stake in the ground back in March and then fail to deliver it entirely, and proceeded to walk back on other promised features?

Not sure if it’s more naive to believe in Jesus or to believe that 343 won’t move the stake again 3 months down the road.

Why are people so happy about this become is fully finished game in 2 years?

OMG forge! Let me get down on my knees. Yeah it looks good, but GTFO out of here trying to spin something that should have been a day one feature being delayed as a good thing and something we should be grateful fore.

All this boils down to is, 343i can’t make a satisfying game. I don’t care how stressing or hard it is to make a game. If the product we get sucks and is lacking features, myself and others are more than justified it being upset about it and telling the company that they suck at making games. There are other game developers and humans that work hard, yet they turn out complete products. Games being hard to make is not an excuse.

This thread is sarcastic, right?

Yes really. Any road map is information filtered through every aspect of development and then organized and released through the marketing team. I understand that missed deadlines are upsetting, but something is in fact better than nothing. I’m not saying this alone will get me to come back, but it at least has garnered my attention and consideration.

The only thing the roadmap did was assure all of us that Halo Infinite isn’t going to be the game we wanted for another year or more.

I think this is worse then i expected it to be.

-Why is there only a 30 tier battle pass during the winter? (So now there’s even less to play for?)
-Why is Season 3 starting in March of next year? (Why are these seasons so long and drawn out?)

Obviously they’re drip feeding content to keep this as drawn out as possible but… Its just sad to witness what’s become of Halo.

Really love how people leak forge and everyone agrees, yep this is good stuff, can’t wait, so hyped, this will save Halo.

Then 343 breaks our ankles with a delay.

Meh. The “delay” is a blip. September to Nov technically a bit over 5 weeks.

It’s a lateral ligament sprain at best.

Season 2 going ANOTHER 4 months, on the other hand… that’s what you call an ankle breaker.

You’re joking right?

So the gameplay is not satisfying? The community demands so much that 343 is constantly changing their directives like every hour. You want split screen which is not feasible btw based on how graphically intense games are nowadays. PC for sure can’t handle this either what makes you think a console can. Forge looks so much more powerful but expect a lot of development time and bugs. All of their resources are diverted to many things.

It is when there is no desync, lag or other network issues. You may have a different experience than me but most of the time this game does not work as intended. The only times i can get this to work with no issues is if I play offline split screen. So overall, no, this game is not satisfying.

Sounds like a development team lead by a headless chickens. Ultimately they’d would not be in this situation if the game they launched was not a broken and featureless mess. Hell, they’re can’t even get more than 10 playlists out at a time because the engine they developed is a mess.

This is a cope. Halo infinite already has split screen multiplayer and Gears 5, another graphically intense modern game, launched with split screen campaign and Co-Op.

Having to wait almost a year for infinite to get basic features that launched with other Halo games is not acceptable. You make it sound like other companies don’t divert resources to different things in development. This is not an excuse. Some companies are simply able to make a good game and others like 343i are not.

If you have low standards that is fine, but don’t get upset with others for having a higher standard based on both the past and modern gaming landscape.
