Now that Halo CE has been released on the MCC on steam I was really looking forward to sitting down on the couch and playing with my buddies just like in the old days but
because of the greed of these large corporations that want everyone to buy a console and a fresh copy of the game, I can’t do that. Halo CE was the epitome of couch shooters and we all spent endless hours making awesome memories of duking it out with our best friends while being hyped up on mountain dew and pizza. I’m a dinosaur now compared to the core gamers nowadays (29) and I guarantee all the kiddos playing mcc are still playing Reach online because that’s what they know. All my friends have jobs and families and don’t really have the time or privacy to sit down for a good few hours at home and pwn n00bs like they used to so the remedy to that would be a guys/girls night at someone’s house while the kids are away. The hardware in our machines would be more that capable of running 2 or even 4 player split screen flawlessly not to mention the size of our tvs have gotten way bigger. It would be the ultimate experience for people looking to bond over good memories but no. The only companies that seem to get the hint are indie developers who want to make the best product possible for people to experience but they don’t have the resources to make a triple A title with split screen so gamers like me get left out in the cold. I’m not sure how to remedy this besides vent on a forum but if anyone has any ideas, that would be quite welcome. Maybe a petition. I don’t know. Old man rant over
