Callin’ it here boys. My first halo experience not on a friends couch in co-op. A short lived one for sure lmao.
MP Beta came out, felt super good to play. The hype was real. Preordered the campaign. Pre-bought $100 worth of credits, because THIS was gonna be the squads new game.
Fast forward a month.
The squad stops playing.
I’m still here.
Fast forward 2 months.
They just got BTB up and running.
And now I’m out.
Dying Light 2 came out and I couldn’t put it down to even do the bare minimum for my tenrai 100% completion. No motivation whatsoever.
Between DL and Elden Ring, I wish you luck 343. I saw this article today:
https://www.techradar.com/news/halo-infinite-is-losing-players-fast-but-thats-no-problem-for-a-live-service-game
“Halo is losing players fast but it’s not a problem for a live service game”
Huh? Is that right? I continued reading. The writer stated that most of the bugs that were in the game got fixed relatively quickly, but some stayed broken for months.
Sorry, what patch did we get besides the one that didn’t work again, aside from the most recent BTB fix? What other bug fixes were there?
I’ve hit 90 in the battle pass and might throw another 3 hours in the game between now and MAY to just. Finish it off.
But without maps…
Bringing a game mode thats been unplayable since the first week of launch-
WHILE AN EVENT IS GOING ON, MAY I ADD-
So you can’t even just jump back into BTB, lord forbid, you gotta get your tenrai challenges on those SAME 3 MAPS (grow facility, the night city district and behemoth) in that SAME RNG GAMEMODE.
So.
Rip my $160.
Already experienced more content in Dying Light 2 in less than 15 hours (23.4hrs at time of writing) than what I did in Infinite, campaign included.
Here’s to year 10 when this game will be the best one in the universe.
Keep in mind, year one of this live service game is really year 7 for 343.
(that still blows my mind)
The first ones story kinda grated on me but I did end up finishing it after years after release; 2 just improves everything from the first one.
Thing to keep in mind is that the more you level up, the game opens up exponentially, kinda like a metroidvania.
But yeah would recommend for sure.
My GF and I are waiting for CO-OP before playing the campaign, so we hang out with multiplayer. But we complain so much about the game. I have my BP done, I load up the game every day to see if the shop is fixed just to close it. I’m only playing when she can play so she can finish the pass too. I check the forums, twitter, reddit, etc because 343 can’t be consistent on where they post their updates. I still have some small amount of hope that this game will get better. But I’m literally going to graduate College before co-op is out.
Yessir, amazing what one studio cannot do with 6 years and 500m.
Imagine all those struggling indie developers that have great ideas but not those resources.
Hell, look at the other triple A companies out there and look what they make WITHOUT 6 years and 500m.
It’s just a slap in the face to me at this point.
The studio has had so many problems with leadership and unable to keep consistent employees. I feel bad for 343 as a company. It has one goal, make Halo games. Just like the Coalition has one job to make Gears of War games. Yet 343 is a revolving door of a developers and only in the past year got leadership that seem to want to stay and fix things. Its a shame that this change came after 343 could delay Infinite again. So they have to finish a released game with a distrustful fanbase.
I get reminded of the movie Don’t look up-
Feel like 343 had to know, someone had to see this avalanche of a release coming, I mean the funding alone, people surely wanted to know where it was going-
I guess they projected stupid amounts of returns with the shop so that kept investors happy, meaning the financial incentives for development came first, and players desires second. Thus they weren’t worried about losing players but rather, getting people to buy the battlepass and skins so they can keep their method of ‘rotation’ in the office going.
