RIP halo reach

My halo: Reach disc has been unreadable for about a week now. I’ve checked other games and they all work fine so I know it’s just Halo is messed up. I already have the game installed to my hard drive. I also noticed a few small scratches but a crack in the center of the disc. IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN GET MY DISC WORKING OR AT LEAST GET A NEW DISC OR DOWNLOAD CODE FOR THE MARKETPLACE WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY ANOTHER COPY?

If there’s a crack in the middle of the disc…I hate to tell you, but you’ll have to break down and buy a new copy. It’s not Microsoft’s fault you can’t take care of your game disc.

It is probably because of how crappy xbox discs are in the center. They are very easy to crack just by taking out and putting in the case. I have had 2 MW2 disc that had the same thing happen. I’ve checked around and this happens to a lot of people across all games on xbox.

If it’s cracked in the middle, unfortunately there’s nothing you can do outside of purchasing a new game. If it was just badly scratched, you could just take it to a local video store and have it cleaned and restored for a reasonable fee!

I have never, in my years of gaming, had a disc crack in the centre from taking it in and out of the case. lrn2take better care of your games. You’ll have to buy a new copy if you want to continue playing.

The new design for 360 game boxes(specifically, the holder for the disk) causes damage to game disks. My Reach disk has a few tiny cracks but otherwise works. Contrary to what Microsoft would say about going green, in reality it’s just to cut costs and screw over the gamer.

I really hope they go back to the old design. At least then, CDs didn’t get damaged.

Your going to have to buy (or download) a new copy of Halo Reach. Unless you really like Reach, i buy different game or wait for Halo 4.

Oh phew! For a second there I thought you were gonna do a typical “Reach is crap” rant.

Well, unlike these jerkfaces, I don’t blame you. Accidents happen. Microsoft has a tendency to go the cheapest possible route when it comes to Xbox, so there is a good chance they broke your disc. They won’t replace it however.

Your best bet is to buy just a semi-scratched Halo: Reach disc from a friend or online. I’m sure you can snag one that works just well enough to read so you can play from your harddrive rather than from the disc. I’ve heard of other people doing that, so I’m sure you can to. Can’t be much more than $5, right? Your only other option is to buy a brand spanking new disc.

Isn’t that a little harsh? However, there are un-confirmed reports that you can take a piece of clear/scotch tape and carefully place it on the crack and try that. I’ve heard that sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t. Never the less, your best option is to buy a new game disc, or wait until the game becomes a Full Digital Download like Halo Wars has become.

Lol, OMG you mean someone actually didn’t? Did we break the space time thingy? :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t see why 343 would give you a new copy of Halo: Reach because you can’t take proper care of your disks.
