Rip classic halo

E3 has confirmed my worst fear classic halo is dead. It may have h2a style graphics but that’s about it it looks good. The advanced movement doesn’t excite me only makes me dissapointed. Gettin that shovel out now

Dude… if you want H2A, just go play H2A.

If you’re upset that Infinite isn’t essentially a reskin of an older game, that’s on you. Nothing remains the same forever. Move on.

If I had a dollar for every time one of these cringe-worthy “RIP Halo” threads popped up, I’d have enough to coerce a 343 Employee into giving me a copy of the game early.

H2a is h4 with no Loadouts. If infinite had the current graphics smaller maps quicker base movement and some cool power ups and equipment like h3 but new. Clamber isn’t super offensive that can stay. Than infinite could have appealed to new fans and old instead of flipping off classic fans and telling us they don’t want us. At least I don’t have to pay for the campaign

What the heck are you even talking about??? A lot of Infinite’s new stuff works like power-ups Halo 3, things like ground pound and the like aren’t in any more, and the graphic stylings are WAY more reminiscent to the Bungie era than the futurist style of 4 and 5. It’s practically a love letter to classic halo with some of the best parts of the “new stuff” thrown in. What more could they possibly do without literally copying Halo 3 or H2A’s gameplay?

Frankly, you’re just looking for a reason to whine about Infinite because it’s not the same game you played 14-17 years ago.

The future is now, old man.

I’m sorry, what? What do you mean by this? Did you not watch the same reveal as we did? Did you not read the blog posts? They literally explain these things… they brought the best of all the Halo’s into one game and toned stuff like Sprint ,Slide and Clamber down. Got rid of the cluttered and annoying H5 Spartan Abilities and all the pickups are H3 equipments with limited use. I don’t get what you’re complaining about. They basically finally found the way to bring classic and new fans together. They are so amazing for this and you’re mad? Come the -yoink- on, dude.

Heck, I was a fan who entered during the classic era and even I realize that expecting the same game from 20, 17, or 14 years ago is ludicrous. What would even be the point of playing Infinite’s multiplayer, then???

Put the shovel back, most of the community loves this.

Take out sprint shrink the maps a bit and we are good. And keep that grapple hook away from spawning with it

In my opinion “classic” Halo was “classic” because of the technology limitations of it’s time. Halo is far from dead and I believe is about to get a major boost in life.

I am very excited. My only disappointment is the lack of dates (flights and release) and nothing about Forge, scripting, etc. Hopefully they will continue to give us stuff over the course of E3.

You don’t -Yoinking!- spawn with the grapple hook. It was a single use item that spawns on the map that is to be scavenged and fought over. It is an equipment pick up. Also, they tone sprint down it looks like, even more so than how Reach implemented it. Also, the maps look great. Literally, why are you finding any reason to complain about -Yoink-?

Exactly. Infinite just did exactly that, tying the best of the old and the new in what looks to be genuinely awesome gameplay.

After h4 and 5 I don’t really trust 343 tbh. And the MCC being left to die for years. I think some concern is warranted

So you admit you’re not looking for a good faith discussion, you just want to complain about 343 because they’re not Bungie.

Good to know.

We haven’t even seen actually gameplay yet…At least wait for the multiplayer discussion tomorrow before making such definite claims.

I want to trust them legit but I can’t forgive being brushed under the rug for way too long. that wound is too big they have big shoes to fill

“Classic Halo” seems to have been killed off at least five separate times at this point- he’s a tenacious bugger, isn’t he?

H4 and 5 lost a lot of the population a lot faster than h2 and 3 they retained 90% of the playerbase for over a decade. And were in the top 5 games played for most most of their lives vs dropping in the first week or month
