Ok i have won like 30 games on my 48 in Ricochet and no rank up its team based on quick csr why am i playing this game if i cant rank up seriously. No wonder people have left this game
I checked your past 30 games,and you have 9 DNFs (where you either quit out or lagged out) and in every game you were playing against people who are ranked way lower than you. These factors are contributing to you not ranking up, since DNFs count you as losing the game (and almost 1/3 of your last 30 games are DNFs) and beating people who are a lower CRS rank than you doesn’t guarantee that you will rank up
Yep. You don’t rank up by winning; you rank up by winning against players who are ranked higher than you.

I never said it counts towards your CSR, I said its a contributing factor to you not ranking up. DNFs do count as a loss for team based CSR, this was stated in the April 3rd 2013 Weekly bulletin.

Even though they have no effect on your CSR, because you didn’t finish those 9 DNF games out of your last 30 games, you didn’t rank up. And like both myself and Vektor0 have said, playing against people you vastly outrank wont get you anywhere. You need to be winning people of a higher CSR rank.
Your still wrong i got a 50 in CTF that’s team based and dnfing in there doesn’t count towards CSR. The only way to get a 50 in CTF is by dnfing or backout for 100 straight games. And you will rank up even if you don’t play people your level especially if you search solo like i have been. Another thing to note i was like a 20 in ricochet and i decided to play it and somehow my acc turned into a 49 somehow so i think it glitched or something.
DNFs count as losses, not automatic rank-downs:

Did you place in the Race playlist between Dec. 9 and Dec. 22? The Matchmaking Team confirmed there was an issue with Race’s CSR interfering with Ricochet’s CSR. You were probably a 49 in Race.

Again, you’re not reading what I am saying. I never said DNFs count towards your CSR, I said they count as a loss and thats why you’re not ranking up. Quitting out isn’t contributing anything towards your rank increasing.
And like Vektor0 said, your accidental high rank in Ricochet is due to a game glitch. So another possible reason you’re not ranking up is because the server still thinks you were a 20 after the glitch and is trying to catch up by not increasing your rank.

If this is true this is an excellent example of how the ranks are not true representations of skill, sportmanship, love for the game, anything positive really.

Did you use the same method? Because if so, than why make it a point of how long it took you? I just ask since the dnf method isn’t really something to be proud of, in my opinion.
I am proud of the fact that I got a 47 in race. Played it everyday the whole time it was available, a few hours a day, as a random and with others, maybe backed out once or twice and/or was dropped from a game or two. I was concerned enough with my rank in that list that I had my laptop open to monitor on Waypoint, this is the only playlist I have done this. Mostly because it was the only chance I’ll have at getting a 50. I was stuck at some ranks for at least a day or two, but I knew why I wasn’t going up.
A part of me takes umbrage at the fact that you got that 50 in three hours, that you have 50’s in other playlists using a somewhat, in my own opinion, unsportsmanlike method; and then come here make this thread criticizing the game for you not ranking up. Oh and that 30 to 0 winning streak is not legitimate. I wouldn’t be bragging about it if I were you.

I got 1st or 2nd in race almost everytime im one of the best drivers on this game no lie. And you talk like your good at this game when you probably dont have a 50 on halo 3. I was a top 10 BTB player on h3 your not on my level your just a jealous kid who does the same thing on this game. I dont see dnfing as not legit 343 is the ones who messed up im taking advantage.

I believe that my statement there actually insinuates that I am NOT good, since the only chance I have at a 50 was in race, and I couldn’t even do that. So yeah, not sure where you are getting the whole I talk like I’m good thing.
I am sure there is no real reasoning with you, and it is probably a waste of time to respond. However, my main point with the whole DNF thing is, in my opinion, it makes all those ranks questionable, to say the least. You may be truly awesome, yes, but you yourself have already said you have used this to get a 50 in CTF. So now in my mind, and I am sure, in others as well, all those 50’s you might have are, for lack of a better word, pointless.
And yeah, I am a little annoyed with that, as I would hope, you are as well. Because basically you have put time and effort into something that is pretty much a paper tiger; and why would anyone want that?
