Ribbons on REQ cards

So I may be being slow, but what do the gold ribbons on various REQ cards mean? I know on the power weapons, such as Nornfang and Prophet’s Bane, they indicate that the weapon conveys additional power boosts (speed, damage etc.).

What purpose do the ribbons have on customisation cards?

Thanks!

Those “ribbons” on those REQ cards say that item is mythic rarity which can only be acquired by opening gold packs.

You can get some information about the REQ system here.

They signify the weapon being of “Mythic” rarity. Its basically another tier above legendary. Most mythic weapons and customization pieces have some sort of significance lore wise as well. For example the Prophet’s Bane is the Arbiter’s personal energy sword.

The ribbons on the Mythic reqs are so pretty…

Thank you BlueChief117.

Sooo… What you’re saying is if I had bothered to do any research I could have found this out for myself? Yup, figures!!

The ribbons show that they are mythic, which means that they are special weapons that are used by some of the characters in the campaign or part of the lore of the game. Or they are limited edition/classic weapons like the H1 magnum. for instance, The oathsworn is mythic because linda uses it, and the Mark VI GEN1 is mythic because it is master chief’s armor.

Ya like others have said when it says legendary but has the fancy gold stuff on it. It is a mythic.

Don’t worry, bro; I didn’t know they were even called mythic until, like, two weeks ago. lol

I don’t really understand how oathsworn can be a mythic weapon, when it is so useless compared to other weapons, I mean blaze of glory is multiple times better than this mythic weapon, and it’s not even a legendary.

Well broadly speaking mythic weapons and items are tied to characters (there are exceptions of course) and seeing as it’s kelly’s shotgun, that’s the only reason it gets the mythic treatment.

But it’s useless. In a way though i’m glad that it’s rarer than blaze, otherwise I would have more of Kelly’s terrible shotgun than the actual legend of a gun which is glory.

What was the reason the mythic assassination was declassified as a mythic?

I see where you’re coming from, don’t get me wrong. Blaze is where it’s at. It’s more that the mythic status, broadly speaking, is more just to do with it being lore or character related in some way, rather than how good it is.

The ribbons are to dry your tears after you immediately lose them.

Yeah, thanks C. You get that a lot after REQing a Prophet’s Bane and then being accompanied everywhere by randies, right?!

Yes that is correct. In fact everyone here (mostly, I don’t know the search engine you’re using) is in possession of a tool called “Google”.

So I just started playing halo 5 again and some gear and other collectibles have a ribbon with three stars on it. What does this mean?

The 3 star ribbon means that it’s a Mythic REQ, which means it’s even rarer than Legendaries.
