Rework the Montage Starter Kit challenge

Currently, the Montage Starter Kit is a seasonal challenge that requires 500 headshot kills with a battle rifle. For something that’s expected to take a season to complete, this is a decent challenge. My main problem with it is that it can only be completed with a battle rifle. That automatically excludes Halo CE and Reach. All other season challenges can be completed in every game. Why not this one?

My solution? Just make all precision weapons count towards the challenge. Or at the very least include the dmr and og magnum. In this way players who favor Reach or CE can feel included.

At this point, I doubt any changes will be made. To my knowledge, 343 has never altered a challenge mid-season, but I’m hopeful that if there is any kind of “challenge refresh” in the future they would consider this. I personally love playing Reach and if I have the choice I would prefer not to play anything else.

It should definitely be reworked to include all precision weapons. The Magnum, Automag, Carbine, DMR, Needle Rifle, and Light Rifle should all be included.

I definitely see your point and initially I was confused to why those weapons weren’t counting too.

I believe the logic behind the challenge requiring BR kills specifically is that the challenge rewards a BR weapon skin. Use your BR to unlock something new for your BR.

ok…i was wondering why i was at 286 kills and it was not going up when i got 41 kills with the DMR in a match

@Dracomaxus It really doesn’t help that the description doesn’t mention anything about needing to use a battle rifle. I was confused at first too.
