It’s in your Service Record under past game history or something like that. It tells you what past games you played and how much, do you really need more to brag about?
Also like Gears coincidentally, they should do a season pass for dlc, as more people would then have the dlc so we could see it in matchmaking for once.

Yes, we do need more to brag about. I never look at anybodys service record, but if I saw them with some cool armour effect or medal I would take note.
This would also earn more money as people would buy past halo games.
i like this idea except for making it based on achievements. i never got a lot of the halo 3 achievements, despite playing it for years because i could never get lucky enough for the lone wolves achievements, or get in a lobby where people would help others get the achievements
maybe make it based on rank in the past games (lvl 50 in halo 3, inheritor on reach)

That is also a good idea. We could easily have both. A medal/armour/effect for ranks as well.
Or
You could get the suit of armour for each game for the achievements.
Halo CEA armour
Halo 3 armour
ODST armour
Reach (I know default is a bit lame, so how about haunted helmet!)
Halo wars spartan armour
To be fair, the last thing they would do is put something like this in, yes, it would encourage people to buy the older games, but that draws attention & population away from the current title, something I as a developer wouldn’t want to do.

> In Gears of War 3 you get a medal for being a wings rank in Gears 2, we need something similar, so everyone knows how much you’ve played halo.

> In halo 4, we who have all of the previous halo achievements or 99% of them (General on halo wars mabye shouldn’t count) should get special armour or a medal or something.

But everyone already knows “how much X has played” due to Service Records. If anything, it’s more detailed than an achievement saying “You’ve played to this point”. The Service Record details just about everything from weapon usage to leveling stats.
I think with all the Halo stat tracking out there, this is unecessary.
For a game that’s supposed to be about community and togetherness, this idea sounds like nothing but exclusivity and if anyhing, the idea of playing as much to be rewarded for it is just saying “You Play A Lot of Games! Here’s Intangible Stuff!”
No, it should be acquirable by everyone through some feat or effort. Not “Hey! You played before! Here’s something aesthtic and useless”.
> You lost all credibility when you said that the Halo Wars achievement shouldn’t count.

> “Reward me, because I did everything, except this one specific part, because it’s too hard.”

> If you’re a completion-ist, it’s all or nothing.
I was kidding about that! I’ll edit it out, if that was unclear.
I’ve played all the games and have every achievement except a few that I’m just not going to get (stupid easy last man standing on defiant is my last Reach cheevo…). I don’t think anyone should get rewarded for being a vet. If anything maybe get something like a piece of armor before anyone else. I love the nameplate thing and they’re probably not going to be bringing that back.
I biggest reward is being able to do awesome against new kids right off the start.

I honestly don’t think it would draw any significant attention away from Halo 4. Besides, the more people who play, enjoy, and appreciate the older games, well, that’s awesome.
