Reward the drivers!

I just played a game of Big Team Super Fiesta and i hooped on the back of a guys Gauss Warthog and went on a 34 kill streak! I ended up going 35:2 top of the leader-board. My driver ended up with 3 kills 37 assists and 2 deaths at the bottom of the leader-board. This makes it so discouraging to be a driver of a warthog.

EDIT: I decided to just edit the post instead of replying to everyone because I feel like I would be replying the same thing to you. I feel like what I was trying to convey did not come out the right way. Him and I had a ball and there was no doubt about how he was the reason that I was able to kill that many people. He contributed so much more than anyone else on the team. So to me I feel like someone who contributes that much to the team should not be at the bottom.

I mean, they get assists. Not sure what else they could do? Scoreboard doesn’t really matter other than “Who won vs who lost” so just because they’re at the bottom of the scoreboard, doesn’t mean they didn’t help. As is evidenced by having 37 assists.

There was a point where you didn’t even get assists as a driver lol.

Why should that bother someone? I don’t think it should really matter as long as the driver has a sense of accomplishment at the end of the game.

Vehicle operation. It’s thankless work.

RIP Echo 419

I want 37 assists. Could I have that in Team Slayer too?

Discouraging? Not in the least. What is discouraging is having a incompetent driver or a bad gunner. It seems you two were neither of those, so if I were your driver, I’d take pride in that stat line. Because there’s few better feelings in Halo than having a competent driver.

I searched and found that game.

Those impressive 31 wheelman assists in just one game nearly doubled his lifetime wheelman medals. That guy needs to drive more. He’s obviously got talent.

And I doubt he cares where he placed on a carnage report but it’s thoughtful of you to notice.

yeah he sounds like he did an amazing job the drivers need some sort of medal say they gain it by the amount of time spent in the drivers seat

Exactly. i think i get more joy out of being an edequte driver that allows the gunner to go on long streaks, or help cap a flag quick.

Then there are some that should just never drive, never…

Im trying to complete the vehicle skill commendation. Would have loved a Gunner of that caliber (pun intended). One of these days, if I’m going to play warzone or btb fiesta for a while, I’ll put it out on waypoint that I’m looking for a Gunner and try to team up with someone.

If you add me I would love to help you out!

As noted in the above responses, kudos to your driver and all good drivers out there. Thankfully, sometime within the last year-to-year and a half, 343 Industries started rewarding the drivers with more Assist points than they previously did in the matches. This helps out the drivers because as we all know, more points equate to more XP and RP.

the drivers need an xp/medal gain that amounts to how long they spend in the driver seat but different medals for different vehicle so say a driver spends the entire game in a warthog they would get say warthog survivor or staying in an air vehicle for a long time would get you the medal red baron idk im just spit balling

Nah as the “designated driver” in my group of friends (unless it’s a tank. I don’t touch those lol), I don’t see an issue being on the bottom of the scoreboard. Not after seeing the massive amount of medals I’d get being the wheelman along with the number of assists I’d get. Halo 5 is great in that regard because, at least for me, the KDA ratio is much better to look at as a “whole” when it comes to how you play compared simply by checking the amount of kills and deaths you have. Having a decent KDA (kill/death/assists) ratio to me makes you seem more like a team player than the lone wolves that, in my experience, usually cause the team to lose. Especially in objective games.
