Revolvers in Halo

I originally posted in the halo universe section discussing why there aren’t any revolvers in halo. After learning there actually are revolvers in the Halo universe (right here) how do you think it would play in halo 5? Honestly, I think they are too slow, and balancing might be an issue.

It would mostly likely be the Mauler from Halo 3 if they ever added a revolver like weapon back in the games.

i totally forgot about the mauler…

I feel like the fans from the older Halo’s need to adjust with the newer ones. It is better for the population that halo is getting faster, most players have probably played games like black ops 3, destiny or games that are fast paced. You can absolutely play this game at a slower pace and still do well. btw I’ve been playing since CE and 2, so don’t try and play that card against me.

"Hey y’all, we’re in the futureee but we need a revolver so we can copy CoD and pretend like having six manual fed bullets is better then a 8-12 shot clip that can be loaded instantly. "

Thats why we have speed loaders. Or, if we were gonna be REALLY cool, some kind of wrist-attachment that would load the entire cylender for the Spartan. Come on, you’re wearing a couple thousand pounds of metal, dont tell me it couldnt load a revolver for you.
Im not saying it would be an amazing idea, but I wouldn’t honestly mind it. Especially if they made said revolver be Petra’s specifically and have some deep, disturbing flavor text like “the owner wont be needing it anymore”.

Copy CoD? Are you implying that CoD invented the revolver?

Revolvers? You need Destiny, my friend.

Exactly

Let’s have push-bikes too. I’m sure they’re still used on Earth in the Halo verse

Mauler is a very good weapon, never understood why they got rid of it

I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not but the population has steadily and exponentially decreased with each instalment of halo that moved further away from the original formula

H:Rs population paled in comparison to H3
H4 had less than 30,000 people playing it less than six months after launc and H:5 doesn’t peak over 30,000 players a little over seven months after launch

the game becoming “faster” is clearly not what’s best for player population

if people enjoyed these new additions to halo the franchise would be gaining players not losing them en masse

Dual Maulers in Halo 3 was awesome! They should add Dual Weilding as a high end REQ armour mod. Like level 9!

Gamers lose their taste over time.It can’t be all blamed on direction.People would have played other games and felt that it was more to their liking. Why do you think CoD is popular. You sure as hell don’t eat the same food that you used to do why expect people to play the same game that they used to.A lot of people who played halo up to 3 have grown up now and don’t have time for games. And if all those previous halo fans left, where did they go?They wouldn’t leave gaming because of the direction of one game.

Halo 5 DOES have a revolver. It’s called a spnkr.
That’s the only type of revolver we need.

Well then what is it?
343i absolutely love telling us how H5 is “the best selling halo of all time” and has “the best player retention since H2”
Sooooooooo
Is halo those things or have all the literal millions of people who bought H5 suddenly “lost their taste for halo”

they claim the game sold 3 million copies in the first week alone…
so clearly those 3 million people’s taste in gaming hasn’t changed or else they wouldn’t have bought H5 to begin with
And now seven months after launch the game can barely sustain a 30,000 player population
so where are they all?
something drove them away in a mass exodus to the tune of 270,00,000 people who for some reason bought the game and stopped playing it and that’s not counting any subsequent sales after that initial first week period

Something doesn’t add up here…

I hate how people say that older Halo players should adapt and want halo faster and faster, when what made Halo unique to me in the first place was the slower approach to combat. If I want a fast crazy shooter i could play CoD or Battlefield.

Are you saying that halo 4 had a bigger population than halo 5 does?

Yah, it’s your math.
