#Revive Halo 3 Day

UPADATE 6/11/13

For those who are unaware, Microsoft has announced that Halo 3 (and, of course, other 360 titles) will be FREE for all Xbox LIVE gold members starting on July 1st!! Words cannot describe how wonderful this is, especially regarding the Re-Population Revolution. Not only will players (who have never played the game or maybe have sold their discs, etc) be able to play this game for free, they will also be just in time to be a part of the Re-Population event which will be on July 5th-7th (Bungie Day Weekend)! It seems as though the closer we approach July 5th, the more and more steam this revolution picks up!

With that being said, I just want to quickly address a small factor that has come to my attention: Unfortunately, I barely have any connections regarding other gaming communities to which I can spread the word to. If anyone has any sort of connection to other gaming communities whether it be websites, YouTube channels, Facebook pages, forums, blogs, etc, please spread the word to those communities.

NOTE: DO NOT spam the topic or else nobody will take you seriously.

Thanks everyone and I will see you all on Bungie Day Weekend!! #ReviveTheFight

UPDATE 5/2/13

I’ve been noticing that there have been new frequent discussions about a major re-population day that is supposed to take place on 7/7/13 (Bungie Day). This is beyond a phenomenal idea that I felt that it would be necessary to mention in this thread. The only, slight, drawback I see is the fact that Bungie Day falls on a Sunday this year (blaghh). So instead of having the event only on the 7th, it would be much more beneficial to have the event last throughout the whole weekend (including Friday) because it will allow more players to participate (and enjoy) this momentous occasion.

This will be the last Bungie Day in which a Halo game will be the most recent game that Bungie has released which makes this year’s Bungie Day the most important one of all. Let’s celebrate the gift of Halo 3 that Bungie left us with one last time before their next generation begins.

Just to clarify

The next major re-population day will take place during the weekend of Bungie Day 2013. July 5th, 6th, and 7th.

Spread the Word. #ReviveTheFight

Go ahead and tell me that there have been many other threads like these. Go ahead and tell me that the Halo 3 population will never be what it was back in 2007-2009. Go ahead and tell me that I’m wasting my time. None of that matters to me.

What truly matters is the fact that the Halo 3 population has the potential slowly rise while the Halo 4 population rapidly declines without any sign of stopping. That is the point to this.

If 343 Industries wants to make future Halo titles more “accessible”, they should be well aware of the consequences that follow their actions. Sure, anyone can say that Halo 4 succeeded just by looking at its sales. But what is the point of having all of that money go towards future installments when there won’t be enough fans to support it? If sales truly mattered, then I guess that Call of Duty is the greatest video game franchise in the world just because Black Ops 2 made half a billion dollars even though it’s, clearly, not. At the end of the day, it’s the LONGEVITY of the game that truly matters.

If we truly want 343 Industries to understand why we are so disappointed with Halo 4, then the idea of having the community return to Halo 3 should be self-explanatory for them. They are, apparently, Halo fans just like us so it should be no problem for them to figure it out.

When Bungie broke free from Microsoft’s leash, they said that the Halo franchise is OURS. However, I feel as though 343 Industries quickly snatched it from us, turning it into something else; something that it’s not supposed to be.

Since 343 Industries has failed to give us the core Halo experience that we’ve constantly been asking for since Halo Reach, it’s time to take a stand and bring ourselves back to what, exactly, that core Halo experience was. It’s time to return to Halo 3.

And with that I will leave you with this:

This doesn’t have to do with halo 4. Better suited for halo 3 forum.

You came to the wrong neighbourhood son. This should be posted in the halo 3 forum. Go post it there.

Already a thread about this: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst216071_Will-you-leave-Halo-4-on-July-1st.aspx

Hopefully Halo 3 gets back on the XBL top 20 chart. Fable 3 was free for only 1 day and it managed to nab the top ten.

Seriously? Maybe I should go into the “Revive Halo 4” thread and report everyone who tries to get people to play that game. He was having a laugh since the mod forgot to lock or move the thread to the Halo 3 section, and you’re reporting him? WTF?

You’re not a mod, stop pretending to be one.

Revive Halo 4 in a Halo 4 area? I can see how that’s totally breaking rules.

Also, a person can openly state if they reported somebody. That doesn’t mean they’re trying to be a mod. Believe me, I wouldn’t want to be a mod for this site.

You want to revive Halo 3? Post it in the Halo 3 section. That’s what it’s there for. That isn’t trying to be a mod, that’s being obvious.

Then let the mods move this to the Halo 3 section instead of trying to get people in trouble for trivial things.

Yap yap yap…

Spearhead I wouldn’t retaliate just leave the thread to die then you wont have to moan about how people are spamming it or how Ka didn’t lock it.

You’re just as bad as them for posting here as it just puts it straight back to the top of the thread list giving it more publicity.

Now I realize I’ve just done the same thing. Crap

I had this urge to play Halo 3 in the last weeks, too bad I don’t have a way to buy Gold membership right now :frowning:

Do you want a 2 day trial? I can give you one if you want.

Just because somebody isn’t a moderator, it doesn’t mean that they can’t set an example of good behaviour and try to show others how they should properly behave on the forums. You know, mods can’t be everywhere or all-seeing, so it’s actually quite a good thing that regular members are helping them out by reminding others of the rules. In fact, the moderators appreciate that kind of help, since it makes their job easier and helps make the forums a better place.

So please, stop spamming the thread by arguing that, since somebody hasn’t been given a position of power, they aren’t allowed to try to do good. You shouldn’t have to have a moderator be the one to tell you how to act on the forums, since when it gets to that point, it’s gone too far. You should always be following the rules, since they’re there for a reason.

Whoops. Brain cramp.

Locked for real this time.
