Thanks for the guide man, Iv’e been wanting to find and buy Halo 2 PC forever, but could never find it. If I ever find it, I will buy it. If I find more than one copy, i’ll buy them all and give the rest away to real Halo fans :smiley:
Anyways, I hear there are many multiplayer achievements for this game, any idea how I could earn them seeing as there’s not many players anymore?

  2. This game is not DEAD, rather a low population, especially for a halo game. There is always a handful of games on the server list that have at least 4 players on them. But if you jump in and play it, it will still feel like halo. there is BTB servers too, usually all the time. Like right now there is 51 players online and its still very easy to find a game, and there is always one or two games with 12-16 players that you can always join. There is also that small competitive group (around 15 people) who are playing Lockout and Gemini BRs only, and there is also that other group of people that like to play fun games and modded maps.

My Recommendation: Download the game and just play it. Don’t worry about achievements, Halo 2 PC is so damn fun! It’s been what, 2 years since I played Halo 2 online? It’s a Wonderland to be playing again. Halo 2 is my favorite Halo game, and as fun as it already is, something was missing… the social part. First off, there was an update for Halo 2 which had a bug and right now Mics aren’t working :(, Second off (and more importantly) Halo 3 is now what Halo 2 used to be. Everyone that used to play Halo 2 on the Xbox aren’t going to the PC version for whatever reason, and instead are going to halo 3. That is why I made this topic. I know there are people out there wanting to play Halo 2 PC just for online, but they don’t know how.

Edit: sorry i forgot to answer one of your questions. yes it is still possible to get every achievement on halo 2 PC still.

Edit no. 2 : Im not hating on Halo 3, In fact I would be playing it hand in hand with halo 2 if I had an Xbox 360

You are out of luck. If you want Halo 2 PC for the XP, it’s gonna have to be cracked. Sorry! But you can upgrade your XP to a Windows 7 for around $100, or you can go ahead and buy a new PC in whole, starting at $500 (From what I’ve seen, maybe you’ll get a lucky deal!)

But if your pockets are empty, the best you can do is get a cracked version, which I do not condone. Plus, you will only be able to play campaign with a cracked version. No access to Xbox Live with those Suckers. Sorry if this is the case my friend.

If you have an Xbox (360 or Original) you can still play Halo 2 through a tunneling program such as Xbox Connect. Here is a Video on how to get that set up. I’ve also been seeing some Game Nights on the forums, it’s good to know that XBC is getting more popular.
