I bought Halo 1 for the PC about two years ago. When I first played online, I loved it so much. Up until recently there have always been good servers with good games of team slayer, capture the flag, ect. I dont know what happened to those servers but now there is nothing but heavily modded servers. There were always modded servers and I loved popping into one of them for some fun but I use to be able to get out of them and play some normal game. I hear this same complaint from alot of my friends and from people online. The only things I see now are
Snipers only
Rockets only
Tanks and Rockets only
Spawn with random power weapons
Shotguns with no shields
Zombies (kinda fun)
Modded versions of Blood Gultch that have teleporters and power weapons everywhere
These things are fine and they have always been there but I would just like to play some regular slayer. No one ever joins a server I try to start, no one joins servers with one player with them anyways.
So i’m thinking that if I can get a small group of people, we can start some normal games and hopefully others will follow, reply if you are interested and feel free to post your oppinion.
I’m a Senior Moderator at TFP - The Last Protectors (Honestly, I don’t like the Name, but we’ve had some “issues” with the original staff and we decided to leave and create our own Gaming community. We have a Minecraft server, and a Halo: Custom Edition (Multiplayer Only, can be downloaded at Halomaps.org along with a lot of other Maps).
The Halo: Custom Edition server has this following configuration:
CTF - Bloodgulch
Team Coldsnap
Team Extinction (These two maps play as “CTF” but It’s mainly a “Slayer” game.
Snipers/Magnums - Prisoner
The Minecraft server is pretty cool, though. There are some “Regulations” of course, but nothing too serious, If you have a problem you can contact me. The site is:
fatdaddy22 I agree with you on that last part. Whenever you happen to have an epic map(Extinction of course excluded), nobody joins in on the servers. I’ve always wanted someone to at least join me in Esther, Icewing, Revelations, or any of the other cool maps but they never come(these are in Custom Edition for anyone who didn’t know). Also when I check around(pop in on Halo CE every now and then) for servers, I see a lot of Blood Gulch(it actually made Reach’s Hemmhorrage look a bit more interesting i.e. new weapons) but I’ve never seen any good maps aside Extinction and Hugeass… and Coldsnap. But overall, the game is pretty good(aside the vehicle tap=instant death lol)

I recently tried getting back into CE on the pc but its kinda tough online for me, I was beast at it 3 years ago when it was all I played but after xbox online play I can’t hit anyone with anything other than an AR or shotty half the time because of PING. But it was and still is the best multiplayer to me.
