I doubt I’m the only one who notices this but halo is kinda going through a revival phase right now. Were seeing hundreds of new players and the nostalgia train is bringing back the veterans of halo. Just last week i checked my friends list to see at least 20 of my friends playing halo reach or halo mcc. Whatever 343 is doing it’s working i don’t think ive had this much fun with halo since the launch of reach.
Agreed. Especially since they’re adding reach to the mcc
After the slowdown since the launch of Halo 5 back in 2015 things are sure moving quick. The revamp of MCC, especially fixing network problems doubtless helps. Plus the big Infinite announcement, now MCC on PC as part of the build up for Infinite’ launch, and the Reach Remaster, as well as lots of new Lore books and comics, yes Halo seems to have a lot going on and generating a lot of momentum right now.
The big question is: are we on the verge of a second “golden age” of Halo?

I hope so. Unlike much of this community I don’t just -Yoink- on modern generations because they didn’t get to experience halo 3 or reach. I want them to get something like we did it would really make me happy to see a whole new generation make memories with halo like we did when we were younger.

That’s surprisingly refreshing! Some of this silly “Noob Bashing” that goes on isn’t helping Halo grow, and whilst generally most people are just excited or got lots of questions about Halo on PC, alas I also noticed a few starting to engage in “PC Master Race” talk and “Console bashing”, which isn’t going to help either.
Ultimately we’re all just trying to do the same thing (defeat the Covenant and the Flood), so “the more the merrier”, huh?

Yeah I’ve noticed this Pc vs Console war going on in our community right now. I’d think if this kept up than this may affect halo’s growth due to the toxicity but thinking about this war is as old as time. I guess you’d assume that this dosen’t really count as toxicity but more as just how things are. PC players will always fight Xbox and PS4 user’s and they’ll fight back. But just like you said were all still bashing through hordes of covenant and flood in the end.
Absolutely; the announcement that MCC is coming to PC has really done a lot to generate interest in the franchise. It warms my heart to see that so many new people will get to experience Halo.
The announcement of MCCPC definitely seems to have given Halo more momentum than it has had in years. It’s too early to talk about a revival, but it’ll be interesting to see whether that momentum manages to hold up.
Heck, the announcement of MCC coming to the PC and the rest is bringing my friends and I back to Halo after five years. We’ve been waiting a long time for this; a lot of people have. Halo may go through a revival when the MCC drops on PC, but it’s longevity will all depend on what 343i does to keep it.
