Review on DLC maps and playlist.

First off I would like to thank Microsoft because if it wasnt for them I wouldn’t of got the DLC. Now lets get to the maps.

Harvest: Its a big/mid symetrical map with open areas on the sides and structures in the middle. There are 4 warthogs on the map. The map looks like it should play well over all but I cant imagine the hogs lasting very long due to being a easy target for a DMR. I do like the map though.

Wreckage: Is a large map with random stuctures and terrain every were. It looks like the after math off a great war. This map seems like it would be good for 16 player FFA or multi team. There is a open area for snipers and alot of CQC areas as well. I dont see gametypes like multi flag playing well at all. I dont really want to play on it but im sure there are people that may like that sort of thing.

Shatter: I am shocked at how awesome this map is. It is a mid/large symetrical map. It has open caves on the sides, along with three path ways in the middle. In flag the bases are set towards the corners of the map but in dominion there are seperate bases on the side of the map and those are sniper spawns in flag games, the other dominion base is in the middle. This map looks like it will play out differnt for each gametype. For that reason I think its the best map in Halo 4 and probably one of the all time greats.

Now that the maps are out of the way let me run through the DLC play list and gametypes.

The DLC play list has Slayer and a number of objective gametypes all in one. This gives you a number of options to vote for. It is a 6v6 playlist by the way. No matter what gametype you pick it seems dynamic spawns come into play.

In flag if you control the other teams base it forces them to spawn near yours. This causes a problem if they bring your flag near their base they get killed and spawn far away having to ditch that flag and go for a new one.

In KOTH the people who die the most spawn closer to the hill which kind of sucks exspecially on larger maps. Why get rewarded a hill for dying? makes no sence to me.

Slayer is just dynamic spawns. On Wreckage it works but on Shatter and Harvest I would think a symetric spawn system would work better for symetric maps.

ODD BALL is also dymamic spawns, I have not yet played ODD BALL on a larger map so I cant say what its like. although I imagine it not to bad.

All in all, I’m really enjoying this playlist! Played a little for fun then went and tried exploring during pla. Why I wouldn’t do that in forge, idk. I kept getting killed but it was fun!

Liking how theses maps are already, and they seem to work well with one another.

Shatter is probably my more frustrating, yet favorite :smiley:

Oh and that damn kill from warthog in air achievement…smacks it DX no likey!
