Review of Chasm

Chasm is poorly designed. Two sets of two leveled hallways with various bridges and floating forerunner debris in between, open and intersecting sight lines plague most of the map. This map is to large and to empty. The hallways on either side are long enough that the distance alone prevents the line of sight spawn limiter from registering that all four of the enemies are on the other side of the hallway and have line of sight on the location I spawned in. The second level of hallways share this issue though I don’t think I’ve ever spawned up there. The hallways, the bridges and debris in between seem tailor made to get players to blindside each other. A map full of alcoves debris and cover, yet you are always in someone’s sight-line and constantly getting peppered with fire from the other side of the map. Always about to turn a corner and get jumped from three sides. There are a set of backrooms, where ramps lead from floor 1 to floor 2, but these might not even be on the map for all the importance these areas have, nothing spawns but players, their only purpose is to be a stairwell so that you don’t need parkour to capture the flag.

Suggestions, make traversing the map easier, this map would greatly benefit from the addition of a pair of man-cannons or even some teleporters. Add some Shroud Screen Spawns, if any map would benefit from the ability to block sight lines it would be this one. Don’t put a King of the Hill capture point where the cloak spawns, that’s just asking to give the winning team an extra leg up. Add something to block sight lines along the bottom hallway that wouldn’t block navigation, like a proximity based door.

Yeah the either need more cover, a ramp to get to both floors (which also acts as cover) or a vertical lift to get upstairs. You shouldn’t need equipment just to traverse the map in a timely manner.

Weapons are distributed poorly. Everything is in the halls, which means a good sniper can camp most of the guns on the map. Nothing spawns in the back accept BR/Commandos.

There’s 4 dynamos. When will 343 learn that these are almost as destructive as Rockets?
