I have been a fan of Halo 5 since it’s launch and I have had a blast playing for the extent of it’s life. I enjoy ranked Arena the most (or at least used to) it had a nice mix of game modes, like my personal favorite CTF, with the added rank system of mostly being put with people of your skill caliber. I’m not a hardcore player anymore so I don’t play much anymore. I stopped playing for the most part when the big changes due to HCS started coming out I didn’t really agree with the catering to only the hardcore “top tier” players. I thought I would take a break, let it run its course and maybe it would work itself out.
Point being, I don’t really like how arena is HSC settings only and would really like the original setup and settings back. I feel yeah HSC is good for “top tier” people that play hardcore but HSC is way too limited in my opinion. Halo 5 has an amazing sandbox to it and almost all of it is removed from HSC style modes, I miss having some weapon variety in the matches. Ranked slayer isn’t HSC and it’s super fun but I miss some good old fashioned CTF with more that just pistols, some random Scarce semiautos and weapon pads. Yeah, it’s not as “meta” or “top tier” style but it lets halo shine for what it is rather than just who is the best at perfect kills with semi autos
Just my opinion… I miss standard arena playlist (not HCS) and I would like to see it make a comeback
The social rotational playlist Core Play sounds like exactly what you’re craving. It only comes every once and a while and it isn’t slated to return in January. I’d personally would like to see it replace quick play but alas it’s up to the H5 sustain team and they like the current set up.

I actually really like the hcs settings. The freedom to move around the map is what I love the most. I do get annoyed of being spartan charged 10 times in 1 match sometimes, but most importantly I just really like the radar settings for hcs. The game just flows so differently.
Quick play should just be removed and replaced by coreplay like the other user said though. Quickplay is the sweatiest playlist in h5…and adding objective modes to it…Idk if it would become worse or better in that aspect. However, it would satisfy the itch players like you have. I’ve seen threads pop up now and then with the same expression you have here. You’re not alone…but I suppose 343 doesn’t want team arena population to go down…I think anything that has to do with playlist availability boils down to the population problems and how popular certain playlists are as well as how those playlist may affect another playlists population.
For example…I like hcs slayer more than standard slayer. If that separate playlist existed I’d play it…but then everyone who felt that way would also make that jump. It splits the population up…then again…there’s people who complain about slayer being in team arena if slayer exists outside of team arena already…but…it isn’t hcs style.
Idk man…I guess you gotta just make do with whats available…dealing with a 1 shot opponent eating headsets from you and still killing you…dealing with playlist availability…the games old…any change is doubtful…
