Reverse Killstreaks

Killing Spree - lose HUD
Killing Frenzy - lose voice comms
Running Riot - permanent waypoint above player
Rampage - shields only recharge when you kill an enemy
Untouchable - sound becomes distorted like you are in space

Love the creativity! I don’t think it’s for matchmaking though… I think it would be great in another new gametype though.

Edit: Great for something like Juggernaut!

No thanks.

This is pretty much punishing the better players.

Hey guys,

I agree with Loscocco that it wouldn’t work so well in Matchmaking, but reverse-killstreaks could be interesting in some Custom Games. If they keep and extend Megalo for Halo 4, it’d certainly be within the realm of possibility as well.

They could allow Forgers to choose the reward or punishment for every killing spree. For example give the player an overshield for a killing spree but take away all shields at the killing frenzy.

There could be a pool of options to choose for the effect of each killing spree.

Give OS.
Give Camo.
Give Waypoint.
Give Grenades.
Increase/Decrease move speed
Increase/Decrease jump height
Give Armor Ability.

That’s honestly a horrible idea, if someone is doing the best in the match, he/she shouldn’t be penalized. It could be considerable if it was something minuscule such as 10% slower speed or more bloom. I would rather have deathstreaks, which would discourage quitting.

If they could somehow combine this with Power Slayer, I think it’d be the most configurable and flexible gametype in the history of the series.

DO WANT

Changing bloom or movement speed would be too much IMO. Losing your HUD or voice comms is really not a big deal. You can’t feel a waypoint. If you are on a running riot you should be winning your duels so having to kill an enemy for shield re charge is reasonable. Having your hearing muffled at 25 kills is not a huge deal, I’ve played on mute before.

I agree with Dirtypillow, not in MM but a playlist with your general parameters has potential =)

Losing your HUD means losing your radar, health bar, weapon rectile, etc, which are all very important things. You can fall victim to an assassination or DMR battle just because you were severely handicapped. Bloom just makes shots a tad bit more random and movement speed makes you walk a little slower, not very gamebreaking.

Definitely not. Killstreaks are one thing, but hurting the player’s ability to kill just because they are good is even worse.

I would like it for Juggernaut and infection, but only in those.

What is this, I don’t even…

What is a deathstreak?

That’d be terrific for Juggernaut. Or other objective games to punish people who just kill and don’t got for the objective.

Guys, i think this whole time we’ve really been talking about skulls :stuck_out_tongue:

I just realized this haha…

Anyways, they’ve been in the game since the beginning (i think???). Why not start implementing them a little more?

NOT IN MATCHMAKING*

No! This is not Call of Duty, if they mess up the multiplayer for Halo 4 then I will be forced to play other video games. :frowning:

Invincible - the whole image on the screen disappears?

But seriously, that’s not very good of an idea when it comes to default gamplay. It may work in a casual gametype like Power Slayer and would actually be great for Juggernaut to limit the Juggernaut’s possibilities. But what comes to default gameplay, especially on high levels of gameplay that would kill literally 50% of the gameplay. On high level gampelay communication is a huge factor, people would be eraged if they were denied voice chat after Killing Frenzy.

Even losing your HUD has big impact on how the gampe plays. It’d make aiming just annoying, especially because the reticle isn’t right in the middle of the screen in Halo.

After Rampage it would be pretty near impossible. Anyway, this should stay out of default gameplay, but would make for a great custom game option.

Should be great as a new gametype, maybe like a play on Juggernaut. But I doubt this will really catch “fire” on matchmaking. Sounds like great potential for Custom games though!
