Why does almost everyone know of the glitch and it still has not been fixed?
For those who don’t know the glitch; if you board a revenant with a sniper rifle on BTB Hemorrhage, for example, you get free sniper kills. The autoaim on it is rediculous.
Now, it is actually more efficient and easy to shoot a sniper while on a revenant than to use it like it was meant to be used. Because long distance sniping renders you vulnerable to people to sneaking up on you, whereas you are practically invulnerable from the seat of a revenant.
This can’t be what any developer intended, now can it…
Reducing the autoaim bonus on vehicles isn’t enough, the rifle isn’t meant to be used that way unless the sniper is actually very skilled (remember the same happening with the mongoose in Halo 3? That was pure aim, not autoaim). Just remove the autoaim bonus for the sniper when in vehicles entirely, or do not have revenants and snipers co-exist in matchmaking.
i would agree that it’s a glitch but it would probably require another TU to fix it, what i thin is happening is that when you enter a vehicle, your reticule changes size, so, in the passenger seat of the revenant you have the reticule size as if you where driving but it isn’t a visible change.
The increased autoaim is to help people aim because they don’t have control over their movement. The way the warthog moves makes it a bit harder to land shots, but this aiming aid should not be there for the sniper, as it isn’t meant to be used from the passenger seat of a vehicle.

Yup, I see it as a mistake when actually setting up the aim assist in the code and it was overlooked, however, its unlikely another TU will becoming for Reach anytime soon.
As everyone else has already mentioned, it would likely require another TU, which I don’t see happening.
Also, I was looking at Halo Wiki and they make it sound as if it was put into the game on purpose. Of course, it’s a wiki, so it’s not developer-created. But I just thought it was interesting…
> In example B I cant see who was Revy Sniping as the only guys who got wheelmans seemed to use a Hog, the guy in the Revy just got kills.

Of course it is fun. I imagine hacking a game without getting banned would be fun as well. The revenant sniper glitch sort of gives the same feeling. The victims feel like they have been cheated and deceived.
Bungie declared button glitches and super jumping in Halo 2 as cheating and I think Revenant sniping also falls under that category. All three were issues that Bungie didn’t see and/or have the time to resolve prior to release and couldn’t solve with TUs.
I prefer to take the more extreme route of removing the Revenant from matchmaking, it is not an essential vehicle in the Reach sandbox.
Sure it’s effective, but I don’t see it used all that often, and both teams have the same opportunity off the bounce. What would you replace Revenant with? Banshee? Scorpion?

Just lower or remove the aim-assist for handheld weapons while riding in a vehicle, not rocket science ^^
Then again, since it’s not a major problem (not abused all the time) they’ll probably won’t waste time, effort and money to fix it. They’ve got a Halo 4 to make, let’s just remember this and the other flaws of Reach when Halo 4 is released, and we’ll all have a better time anyhow
