Revealed Specializations!

So the specializations have finally been revealed. Everyone was scared they were like perks, and granted, they kind of are. But unlike CoD, they don’t really give huge advantages like perks do. They are more like small little boosts that give you a slight edge in combat. Everyone will be using these, so everyone is on even terms. My only complaint is that most, if not all, of these will be immediately unlocked to people that are getting the limited edition which, let’s face it, is MOST people. Although it does take down some feeling of pride to unlocked these if you get the Limited edition, these are in no way game changing in a major sense.

If you haven’t seen the bulletin, here it is: https://halo.xbox.com/blogs/Headlines/post/2012/08/15/The-Halo-Bulletin-81512.aspx

No, you do not get specs earlier than everyone else if you purchase the limited edition. You have to rank up to level 50 like everyone else. Except instead of being capped at the first two (levels 60-70), you can still move on through the upper levels and still unlock the specs at the same time. That is what they meant by early access.

Ah I understand. Still though, I think these small like mechanics are a great addition to the Halo formula. Keep in mind I hate CoD with a passion, and yet I still love this game. I hate people that compare it to CoD.

I completely agree.

I dare anyone to give me a reason why I shouldn’t compare Halo 4 to Call of Duty.

They are not immediately unlocked for those with the limited edition. They are available to LE owners, but not until they reach level 50. Level 50 will still take time, so they still have to earn the use of the other 6 specializations.

A few days late, OP, but no matter. At least you missed the -Yoink- storm of complaints that followed this info.

They are alright I guess. The abilities they give you can’t even be used until you max out a specialization(10 levels each, where youi unlock armor, skins, visors, emblems and finally equipment). Even then, you have to choose between using this specialization mod or another tactical package/support upgrade that may or may not end up being more useful. The only one of these I even had a single problem with when reading was rogue, as I think not being zoomed out when shot would make sniper way too OP in the end, however with all of the other qually good option I’m glad to say this should be far less used than I first predicted.

Are you intelligent?

Edit: Sorry, that was a bit rude. But seriously, how can you think it even looks a bit like CoD?

…Yea, that’s what I thought.

Because you unlock armor mods etc. with rank.

They are vastly different.

  1. Story/lore/fiction is different.

  2. Halo has less limitations on movement (Higher jumping, faster speeds).

  3. Vehicle gameplay of Halo cannot be compared to any other shooters.

  4. Halo gunplay takes more skill (imo) than CoD. In CoD usually the first person to see the other wins because of its fast kill times. In halo you can beat someone who shot you first if you are consistant enough.

  5. The artistic design of Halo is more colorful and vibrant.

  6. CoD’s perks give significant gameplay modifiers, where as Halo’s specializations provide minor changes to a users style of play. Even with these specializations a good player will still beat a bad player.

Oooh! I love this game! Let me try!! CoD ripped off <insert RPG here> because you unlock skills with levels. am i doin it right?

OT: the armour mods are pretty solid but I think the one that lets you see an enemy with a waypoint might be pushing it.

Close, but I said ‘compare’, not ‘is exactly the same.’
