Returning Player

So since launch I’ve had very little time to play multi-player on H5 and now that I have more time, I was wondering if anyone could suggest an ideal playlist to get back into it. I’m pretty sure I should avoid warzone as I got severely crushed in pretty much all the games I attempted to play. Also I’m only level 17, so should I just forget it and stick to campaign like the filthy casual I am? :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers guys.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I think non ranked playlists first then ranked playlists

Hit up BTB and Warzone Assault. Both are more casual than normal Arena is and better yet; you get LOADS of XP and REQ points from them.

You should play warzone as a warm up, that’s what I do, then when you feel ‘in the zone’ move onto arena!

BTB is a good start, just enough chaos to hide the bad, but not too chaotic to prevent learning anything. From there head over to WZ.

To be honest I think Warzone actually is the best place for you to be - I’m the filthiest of filthy casuals and that’s pretty much all I do now for H5 multiplayer. Pretty much everything else PVP that this game has to offer makes me sweat too much.

Even Warzone has hidden skill rankings to it, so if you only played a few games and got crushed, it may not have established a good skill rank for you yet. I’d encourage you not to give up on it (try using Focused search) and eventually you’ll get better matches. Sometimes you’ll still get crushed, sometimes you’ll DO the crushing, sometimes you’ll have 1000-999 nailbiters. But I nearly always have fun. The thing about Warzone is you can pace it the way you want to play - if you’re not so very good (like me) and you can’t hold your own offensively, stay near the bases and play base defense, while also going after AI when possible. You can kinda make the game slow down for you that way.

I play warzone as well, more time to get the hang of it with 12 players. Any ranked arena playlist is bad as you have to be on it.

BTB would be the easy answer, but I say Go into the arena. You’ll get placed where you belong and you’ll eventually (after qualifying) play against people with similar ability. Then you’ll be fine and can work your way up from there. Don’t assume you’ll only be playing against pro players forever. I think it’ll be fine and you can play all of the different modes as intended.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I’ll give them all a go and see where I fall best.
See ya all on the field

Roughly 2hrs/day, for a month or a Halo season and then do the ranking matches the next month. You will outperform yourself.
I was as bad as bronze 1 at the start of March (my first 10 ranking matches). Gold 5 in SWAT now.

If leveling up than Warzone for sure. If love arena and want that I would start with BTB or FFA if have the patience lol good warm ups
