Not to completely remove all the new elements of the game, but is there any chance we might see a playlist that better resembles the pre-Reach era? One with no loadouts, ordinance, or sprint? I’d play that, because right now there really isn’t anything that can scratch that itch for me.

Yeah, I’d just like to play on maps that are so small, you don’t even need to sprint on them. I’m thinking of Midship/Heretic, The Pit etc.
I’m also thinking of announced ordnance drops, and armor abilities disabled.
Now THAT would be a fun playlist.
