I would love to see the Brutes return in Halo Infinite, not to mention the Drones. I missed them from Halo 3, and no enemy is as sporadic as the Brutes and the Drones can be a game changer when in swarms.
I did like the ‘New’ Covenant in Halo 4 + 5, but they still felt a bit unfinished. I wonder if the Brutes where ever supposed to be on Halo 4, but just got delayed or deleted.
I’d love to see the Brutes return, especially if they returned in the form of The Banished from HW2. They add lots of character to a typically bland species.
The Brutes created the Banished, which was the main enemy faction in the HW2 campaign, excluding the expansion which was the Flood. I don’t know if we’ll see them make an appearance in Infinite, but they for sure will eventually.
Wouldn’t mind seeing skirmishers again. Contrary to popular belief they’re not extinct but they are rare. So I think a cool thing 343 could do for campaign and AI modes is every time there’s a squad of jackals there’s a low chance of unique skirmisher spawning too. Same idea with brutes since in H2 they had fur and beards but H3 they didn’t. Could have both types and its random for when they spawn in a mission, so one playthrough theres a bunch with beards but play the mission again and only one has a beard.

I think there was concept art for brutes in halo 4.And with cortanas message at the end of halo 5 and the banished being around,I see brutes returning and hopefully drones as well
As said before, seeing as how the Brutes returned in HW2 it is a possibility. As long as they don’t make them bullet sponges like in Halo 2 then I would love to see them come back in Infinite.
I’d love to see the banished so yeah bring brutes in infinite. I hate the drones though. Probably the only halo enemy I’d be fine never returning
The Banished (Brutes in tow) would be neat way of replacing the Covenant while keeping the core enemy sandbox intact. Halo: Envoy had these cool Brute airborne heavy gun platforms that I would love to see in-game, so yeah Brutes returning would be awesome. As for Drones…well they could work if tweaked properly. The main issue with the Buggers was always that their core shtick (swarms) made fighting them on Legendary an absolute hell. Fix that and they could be used to set up some interesting enemy encounters (imagine having Drone AI be tweaked so the swarm comes down on vehicles and starts to systematically break them apart).
Given the banished is a thing I would say its likely that brutes will be in infinite. Not so sure about drones given they seem to have bugged off like the buggers they are but it would definitely be nice to see them again given they gave a new perspective to battlefields no elite rangers could.
I think they’ll come back.

Haha I actually enjoyed the challenges of fighting the over powered brutes in Halo 2. Wouldn’t mind if they came back as tough as Halo 2.
It would be a nice easter egg if there were an extra furry Brute ally named Speaker, but someone might get sued.
I was never really a fan of the brutes. They really made the halo 3 and odst campaigns less interesting to me.
Since the Banished appeared in Halo Wars 2, and we haven’t really have a main storyline dlc, Atriox might make an appearance in Halo Infinite somehow. And with Atriox, the rest of the brutes come in as well. The fight between the Banished and the Spirit of Fire isn’t exactly over, and we have yet to find out what happens next. So if the Banish is a faction in Halo Infinite, then it’s very likely that we will get Brutes.
I never liked Brutes and I’m not that interested in them returning.
I’m pretty confident that Master Chief and Atriox will meet…
I would like to see a return of the brutes and drones.
I mean, don’t quote me, but I’ve heard and believe I remember that the ending of both H5 and HW2 imply that they are going to clash. With that said, we could expect to see Banished, Prometheans, “Covenant”, etc.
