Return of Spirit of Fire for Halo 5/6?

Something recently popped into my mind after looking back over the storyline of Halo Wars. With the advancement of the Halo storyline and the technological capabilities of the UNSC, could it be possible that the Spirit of Fire will return for Halo 5/6 as part of the Campaign storyline? It’d be very interesting and fun to see Red Team link up with the Master Chief. Also considering the time the Spirit of fire’s spent lost in space minus Slipspace, how’s Serena deteriorated as a Rampant Smart AI?

What’s your opinions on this possibility?

I think when they wrote the story for Halo Wars they probably hoped they’d be returning to the Spirit of Fire in the sequel. As that looks unlikely now, Putting them into the main story for Halo 5 would be a great move, hopefully they’d restore some much needed charisma to the campaign.

doing so would imply use of all the cool vehicles aboard the SoF
i really want to use a Cobra in a halo FPS

Would be really cool  but i would rather see spirit of fire come back in Hw2 even though that is veryvery low chance of happening

I would imagine the return of the Spirit of Fire in a future main story Halo game, possibly Infinity could pick up on a distress beacon set by the Spirit of Fire as the remaining crew died, became incapable to keep working, after Serina went rampant, etc. This could be a very well developed story, and would answer the question posed by the UNSC report which had stated the Spirit of Fire was lost with all hands. We could also possibly have a meeting between Prof. Halsey and Prof. Anders (presuming nothing happens to Halsey after the events of Spartan Ops Season 1). Something like this is completely possible, the student (Anders) meeting back with her teacher (Halsey) and seeing the possible return of Captain Cutter would be amazing, I don’t know why but Cutter seems like an overall badass leader.

They already have all kinds of ways to go with this, we learned about AI rampancy, it’s been over 20 years without any contact, they could easily have come in contact with the Flood or anything else. Another great way to go with it could be the return of Buck (from Halo 3: ODST) or Jun (Noble 4 from Halo: Reach), as Buck’s service record states that he fought on Harvest in the 5 year war with the Covenant, and was suspended in cryosleep for about 15 years until he fought during the siege of planet Reach by Immense Covenant Forces and then again on Earth against the Covenant in New Mombasa City.
We don’t know much about Jun though, we know that he escorted Halsey back to the Pillar of Autumn on a pelican under Carter’s (Noble 1 from Halo: Reach) last orders, he made it to the Pillar of Autumn with Halsey safe and that’s it.

There are many ways this could play out, but I doubt that 343 Industries would just forget about them and move on. I’m expecting the return of the Spirit of Fire in a future Halo title, so I’m anticipating the day when we, the fans and gamers, get to hear of the UNSC Spirit of Fire’s grand return.

I would love to see the Spirit of Fire return to the Halo franchise. It would be awesome! Considering there are 3 Spartan II’s in Cryo sleep (Douglas Spartan 042, Jerome Spartan 092 and Alice Spartan 130) along with Captain Cutter and Professor Anders. All of which survive the encounter of their own Forerunner planet (the name of which is unknown to me) that again (like in Halo 4) explodes in the end of the game. The Spirit of Fire escapes and from what I know everyone goes into Cryo and the vessel is later marked: Lost with all hands by the UNSC. Meaning they were never found.

Which brings these questions to me…
Why weren’t they found? And where could they be? Also being that Serina is an older AI unit, did she deteriorate and go mad? But then wouldn’t Prof. Anders or Cpt. Cutter or one of the Spartans from Red Team on board do something about it? Or maybe they were attacked without warning from a covenant vessel? Or MAYBE… Being that the Spirit of Fire and it’s crew were in several Flood infested areas, maybe the crew was infected?

All this being said, my hope is that the Spirit of Fire is still out there and I hope 343i brings them into a future title or even Halo Wars 2.

It could be a spartan ops story line, “Spirit of fire” is a ghost ship lost in space or something you investigate the ship and you find out that it is heavy infested with flood spores etc

kinda like ( High Chairty )from it’s last encounter with the flood “Halo Wars Campaign”. Now it’s up for majestic team too get rid of the infestation.

A 20 year old infestation would have (by then) engulfed the entire ship. It would be a straight lost cause like High Charity. The only thing I could see it maybe being is a rescue op, saving someone on board. Maybe retrieving Serina for debriefing and analyzing? Really anything is possible. If 343i is determined enough to produce such an idea.

I’d love to see something about the SoF even if its fan fiction that makes sense and doesn’t conflict with other events in the halo universe. I do it myself but stepping on the toes of 343 would just be wrong
I think people need to take into account the very end of the credits where Serina wakes up capt. Cutter and tells him “something has happened” if it were me writing it id have them stumble into something forerunner, have ONI cover it up hence the “lost with all hands” designation a few years later and keep the whole thing under wraps.

just my thoughts:)

P.S. Cutter was badass

something to consider, for everyone that is hypothesizing that the SoF could be completely flood infested.

What would happen if a Spartan in MJOLNIR armor became a combat form? Let alone THREE?

Could be a crazy awesome boss fight between Blue Team and Flood/Red team in a future Halo. As in, literally the hardest part of any Halo level yet.

I’ve been thinking the same, because if 343i isn’t planning an Halo Wars 2 or ODST 2 then make it come for the “Halo Saga”.
It would be very interesting playing along with them and besides, Cpt. Cutter is more memorable thank any of the new characters.

Halo 5 would be awesome with the Spirit of fire

I concur, I can imagine a scene now reintroducing it. Trying to think on not how to make it cheesy or overly fanboyish >.<

I think if the spirit of fire did appear in halo 5, the infinity would be put to shame of the amount of technology it has.e.g unsc fire base, vulture ,shortsword etc. the infinity would have trouble if the master joined them with also red team, three mark iis Spartans with the chief… Omg unstoppable .!!!

I think we would all love to pilot that AC-220 Vulture, show Jul 'Mdama a thing or two about air superiority.

I agree, since the unsc couldn’t afford all this during the human covenant war, maybe now they could bring in all these vehicals and the sof since 30-40 years passed since the were gone. Maybe they could fight the flood on the sof and this could bring them back since we loved the flood.

I see my thread has returned to life after a few months of cryo.

One hting comes to mind on the subject of the SoF’s vehciles being recovered by the UNSC, we know from the Thursday War novel that ONI now possess Huragok (Engineers) that can maintain and repair extensively damaged vehicles and also build new Engineers from scratch.

With this new ability, I could easily forsee the UNSC gaining a large amount of the vehicles featured in Halo Wars being used by the Infinity and other assets in the Reclaimer Saga to fight the new Promethean threat and finish off the Storm Covenant.

Pshh, not called the Storm Covenant. As seen in Halo: Spartan Assault the UNSC still seems to have a decent number of both Wolverines, Hawks, and Grizzlies. I always thought that the Locust would make a good gameplay “equivalent” to the Mantis.

oh god this thread

This could give way to the Halo Wars 2 we’ve all been waiting for! The covenant is in, the flood has presented itself in the Spirit of Fire, and the new and improved Human and tech enter the scene!
