Who would like to see the return of daily and weekly challenges like in Halo: Reach and Halo 4? I found these challenges really fun and motivating to get. What do you guys think?
I wouldn’t mind seeing them again. I believe Halo Wars 2 brought them back in some sort of fashion, so expanding that into Infinite would be nice. If they don’t go with an XP Progression system, maybe the challenges could offer different rewards too, although I expect commendations to do that sort of thing.
I’m pretty sure they didn’t include challenges in Halo 5 since that would mean progression/unlocks based on gameplay. The REQ system was designed to be a replacement for a traditional play-based progression system. That’s why you see things like XP boosts in those packs. The more XP a player wants (the reward for challenges), the more packs someone would need to open. This in turn means more potential ca$h from real money purchases.
However, thanks to the Battlefront 2 fiasco, the loot box system in Infinite should be much more toned down if one is implemented in the first place. Guess we’ll have to wait and see, but I have high hopes for Infinite being a grand slam based on what’s been going on over at Xbox for the past couple of years.

Not trying to be argumentative, but how in the world does Halo Infinite’s potential have anything to do with what’s been going on at Microsoft over the past couple of years?

Because Microsoft is a parent company of 343, and thus has a huge hold of what happens in Halo?

Microsoft publishes the Halo games and plays a big part in its development and release. It’s normally publishers who force developers to include garbage like loot boxes tied directly to progression.
