Retro Giveaway!

Greetings fellow Waypointers! It’s already time for another giveaway.

I will be giving away around 30 Platinum Packs. For free. Well, almost. You only have to do a simple task: play some Halo 2600. I know it’s not an official game, but hey, I like it.
Just tell me how far you got, and I’ll give you a prize. As a bonus, tell me your favorite Atari 2600 game and I’ll throw in an extra pack (because being old and wise should feel rewarding).

Enjoy those glorious 8-bit graphics!

I need a weapon: don’t forget to grab the Pistol before facing the enemy! Pressing the spacebar button won’t do anything without a weapon.

P.S. For more info on Halo 2600, check here!

I don’t think I got very far to be honest…those higher ranked Elites and Grunts really had me on my toes.

As for my favorite Atari 2600 game - I never got to play on an actual unit - I’m rather stuck between Centipede and Missile Command. Timeless classics, especially the arcade versions.

Well, this is embarrassing. I only got to the part in the purple ship before being shot by an elite and stepping into what seems to be an instakill pylon-thing.

As for my favorite Atari 2600 game, I don’t have one because I never played on it.

How do I get my gun to shoot, Spacebar doesn’t respond to the game

You have to pick up the gun by moving up from the spawn.

Oh I didn’t even realize you had to pick one up aha, thanks for that mate

Still 35 Platinum Packs to give away folks! Play a fun game, win a fun prize!

Yeah, that threw me off pretty good too; kinda fun once you get the hang of it, but it escalates in difficulty once you see the higher-ranked enemies. Those Grunt Majors are surprisingly dangerous.

Haven’t played your game, but for Atari games I loved Pitfall, Space Invaders and Yar’s Revenge. I liked another game which was a city and it had guns that shot up at ships dropping bombs moving across the screen faster as time went on, but I can’t remember the name. I hated ET.

Everyone hated ET. It was the first time the definition of “Literally Unplayable” was used. That other game almost sounds like Missile Command.

Heres what i’ve done
Kills
grunts: 36
Elite minors: 41
Elite majors: 5
Elite General: 8
Brutes: 2

my rampage was finally ended by one lone grunt after I killed the rest of his squad XD

I went through I think 3 stages and died in the river stage after finding the black key, awesome game, I’ll definitely play it more

Also, my favorite Atari game was food fight, Im not sure if it was 2600, but it was great

yeah, they buried all remaining unsold copies somewhere in Nevada I think

I got to the purple area with two elites or what ever they were.
My favorite Atari 2600 game has to be Pac-Man!

Got to one of the purple rooms and died to a grunt. And for favorite Atari 2600 game, i’d have to say pitfall, played it all the time with my brother.

Welp, guess I’m not great at this game, cause the furthest I got was into a room with three rows of jackals (or whatever the white things are). Additionally, I haven’t played much atari 2600 tbh, but I’ve always been a big fan of breakout.

That’s really impressive, you are way better at this than I am!

New Mexico. There is a neat documentary called Atari: Game Over on Netflix where they locate the burial site. Pretty neat!

Well, I beat the game. It turns out it has a save function, so it was really easy once I realized that. In addition, there were two upgrades you could find that make you and your projectiles move faster that helped me out a bit. There’s also a Legendary difficulty once you beat the game, but I haven’t done it yet.

I cannot get the spacebar to work, i think you need to update the game. :)

It’s not my game at all. Maybe try opening the link in another browser?
