I am signed in and it keeps saying that the game is …retrieving data both for my character and reqs.

This is a glitch, the only way to stop this is to quit the game, and restart it. You will not be able to access req’s in game with the retreiving data error.

An extension to this:

  1. Hard Reset Your Xbox
    Turn off the xbox, unplug power source for 30 seconds.
  2. Reset Internet
    Reset router and modem. Turn on xbox and connect to internet after router and modem resets.
  3. Play a game in matchmaking.
    Sometimes takes a game to sync.

What I usually do is take the disc out. Put in another game. Go back in. And sometimes I reset my xbox 4 times to fix this.
