Awhile back I saw people say the reticle in Halo 5 is located in the center of the screen akin to CE. What does this mean exactly? Are there benifits to having it there rather than how it has been since Halo 2?
I guess it makes the FOV better? Certainly looks like the weapon is being held up higher and feels more natural.

I wonder what made Bungie decide to change it for Halo 2 in the first place. Maybe it is FOV, but I’m just not able to make out the differences when I go from CE to 2/3/4.

Field of view (FOV) is a measurement in degrees horizontally from the normal of the fount of a persons face. If I do recall from past halo games the reticle was placed slightly lower on the screen. So no, this has nothing to do with FOV but rather the vertical axis instead. Maybe this has something to do with clamber and more vertical maps. I can only speculate on the mater and have no solid evidence to what could have caused such a design decision.
My guess was that it had something to do with verticality and Halo’s jump height, if your aim in centered lower down then another player near you can jump without completely leaving the screen.
Not sure why they changed it back though
