Retcons and armor

So everyone’s trying to find a lawyer reason for why Master Chief is wearing his armor from Halo 2 and 3 but if you ask me I think will be better if they didn’t explain it and just let it be a retcon the armor featured in 4 and 5 looks different but it’s still technically the same variant the only confirmation that there even was the change to his armor was some crap someone made up about nano machines when he was asked. Trying to find explanations for our changes just lens to the possibility of plot holes like if they gave an explanation for all the Spartans wearing that same armor in the flash back when interrogation Halsey. For the sake of keeping the lore intact it’s better if we just let the Sleeping Dog lie. Im more suprised no one noticed that those marines are wearing armor specifically similar in the design from halo reach and that means they are taking elements from different art styles
The Halo 4 and 5 version of the warthog, Halo Reach Marines, Halo 2 version of Master Chief armor, and Halo 3 versions of Foreigner structures. It’s me if you might see and so it just turns the better elements from each game in fact the back of that helmet is more similar to the halo 5 style note the design for the AI slot making this more of a reduxe

More importantly are they any retcons for events in Halo 4 and 5 you would like to see. I personally would like them to unkill jul madama and fix some of the other wasted story beats from halo 5 like the hunt the truth thing and Halsy wanting revenge

They find a cache of armor at an abandoned UNSC facility or raid a base for supplies to combat the Created.

There, that was an easy explanation.

Don’t be silly. Clearly it was nanobots. Way more plausible.

To me, Chief’s armor looks like a blend of all his past armors (1/2-3/4-5) which looks to be a surprisingly good result and people see it as a return to his ‘classic’ look so thats good.

I either see them coming up with another random reason he has a slight change of armor or not saying a word (which is highly unlikely for them based on past experience lol) but either way the fans are happy so they should be fine.

The description of the Halo Reach helmets give a clue as to why this change occurred.

With the Infinity on the run, so with limited resources, it’s the most logical explanation

There’s literally no need for an explanation. That would be worth no more than the explanation for why it changed in Halo 4 to begin with; it would be worth zilch, squat.

It’s just the same armor, which is how this began.

Well, the final version might change in the released game, but to me the armor looks fairly new and well maintained so I doubt it’s from some forgotten UNSC cache. It is either a new Mjornir model (Mark VII/VIII?) or simply a change in artistic direction that won’t need a detailed explanation (remember that the Chief’s armor in H4 is actually the same armor he wore in H3…just you know, Cortana tinkered around with it a TINY bit).

On retcons: I doubt we will get anything major (Jul ain’t coming back man, sorry. It hurts, I know) since this is a sequel to H5. Since it takes place in 2060 we might get something out of the (retcon minor characters out of existence by implying they died during those 2 years?).

I love the look they’re going with and i do prefer classic movement but just quickly moving to classic with no decent lore explaination doesn’t do it for me.

I guess I can get my head around the armour if they find it on the Halo ring in an abandoned base but other things bother me as well.
For example, even though I MUCH prefer the design of the original Bungie Pelicans, the ones in H4 & H5 are considered to be newer iterations of the old ones (so both designes still exist in universe).

I’m also interested to see which route they go with multiplayer. Like, are you going to tell me that all spartan IV’s now cannot use thrusters… Or even sprint for that matter…

Like i said, i prefer old gameplay but I need a good lore explaination as well.
Just throwing stuff out that some people don’t like without a good explaination isn’t the way to go in my opinion. I was livid when they just killed off jul 'mdama in the first mission of H5. It rendered the entire spartan ops storyline pointless. Or even the armour change from 3 to 4. Nanobots < Getting new armour on Infinity.

If that is in fact the armour Chief will be wearing in Infinite I think it’d be cool if at the beginning of the game he’s wearing his broken down H5 armour and obtains this new suit.

As long as they explain why I have no problem and it’s specially if they explain why in the game and not just say oh it was Nanobots that changed his armor back.

THIS.
None of this nanobot bs or just ignoring. I wish they did this at the start of H4. Using his old armour without abilities and then getting a new set on Infinity

I don’t know what if I care or don’t care to know how it changed back. If this is the new style, I am more curious how characters like Locke and Palmer will translate.

I wouldn’t even bring it up in the game. Chalk it up to a change in art direction and nothing more. It’s not that pressing of an issue.

That would be a worse explanation than nano bots. An out dated Gen 1 mark 6 was just laying around? They don’t make Gen 1s anymore and the ones they did weren’t made in a great number as they would only work with spartan 2s. They only made the amount that was needed as even one costs a boat load to make. The Idea that one was just laying around anywhere collecting dust is ludicrous. If there was extras they would have been repurposed for gen 2 armor. If a UNSC facility that had one was being abandoned the suit would have been destroyed so others couldn’t use it. Better explanation is that it is just a new suit and it just so happens to look like The Mark 6.

What if Chief armor is somehow corrupted due to his connection with Cortana and her nanobot magic from H4? Maybe he needs to shed it to avoid some potential security issue. Like patching an OS after a exploit is identified.

It looked more like his trailer armor from Halo 4, to me at least, just with the more classic art design.

In the Classic Helmet pack for Halo 5, the Mark V Delta description explains that the helmets were scavenged from old UNSC Resource caches, so this explanation is still possible.

I’m really hoping for no in-universe explanation. I hope they just retcon it, Chief has been wearing the same unchanged suit of armour through Halo 2 to Halo 6. maybe having a few upgrades to it after he’s back with the UNSC between 4 & 5.
