Having the weapon respawn at a set amount of time is total BS in halo 4.
Not only are most of the weapons extremely powerful, they also encourage camping seeing as most of the time they are sniper rifles.
In the other games It was fine because you had to check if they were there instead of already knowing it. The ammo upgrade also makes them even stronger.
343 should remove the resupply drops and keep the random ordinance.
this way there is a chance that there won’t be another damn sniper rifle every 90 seconds.
Initial Ordnance is only different from the on-map pickups of previous Halo games in a few ways:
[/li]- There is an indicator on every player’s screen of when and where the weapon spawned.
- Weapons respawn a certain time after they were picked up instead of a certain time after they despawned, making them appear more often.
- You can’t blast a weapon away with explosives until it’s been picked up once.
It sounds like this is a complaint about the first two points, and I agree. Although I hardly agree that Initial Ordnance mechanics in themselves “ruined” Halo 4. They make it less enjoyable IMO, yes, but hardly gamebreaking.
The ammo perk does not make them any “stronger”.
I don’t see how it’s any different than the other games that had people watching the clock to wait for respawns on weapons.
Yeah its not gamebreaking I was just trying to make a point.

More ammo from pickup is “stronger.”
In other games the sniper was less common and there were more weapons that spawned that could counter it better.

There are ways to make points without those points coming across as thoughtless complaints.

The Sniper Rifle is more difficult to counter due to descope not being present. Previous games allowed you to keep snipers unzoomed by pinging them with a pistol/BR/DMR (depending on the game). Since Halo 4 does not have this, a sniper can stay zoomed in on you while you’re shooting at him.
Please give me a reason why Static timers which encourages weapon control in order to win the game (something that has been in all Halo’s) should be scrapped and replaced by Random Ordnance drops. Random Ordnance is uncontrollable and rewards players for absolutely nothing. The amount of games I have lost because a Random Ordnance has spawned on the enemy teams side. Random Ordnance is a concept that even big COD fans would cringe at…
Explain why having a consistent weapon drop is “game-breaking?” I’d rather have a consistent weapon drop than have the other team get random rockets on their side for no reason and 5 min later we get a needler or some other lower tier power weapon. Consistent weapon drops are less frustrating than having something that is completely out of a players control.
Keep the resupply timers. Additionally, to limit the number of power weapons, go back to how it used to be, where the power weapon would not respawn unless the previous one was emptied and dropped, or despawned from being left on the ground for too long.
Random ordnance? No thank you.

More effective maybe but having two extra rockets doesn’t suddenly turn the rockets into nukes that have twice the blast radius. The weapon isn’t stronger, it’s the same strength, it just does what it does longer. :3
The static spawns don’t encourage camping. The true value of a location is in OCOKA+Spawn manipulation. Competitive players don’t camp the weapon spawns the entire match. They time them, arrive the second it respawns, and get back into a map control position.
Many of the power weapons are deliberately spawned in inferior locations to break camping.
Also H3 and Reach also had the ability to time weapon respawns, you just went into Forge to see what the timer was, so I’m not really sure how suddenly in H4 it has become a problem.
