Resuming Saved session in Holo anniversary

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

Is not resuming where game was saved. Takes you back to the beginning of the session you were in - not where you left in the session.

Holo Anniversary?

On a related note: Doesn’t the game just return you to your last checkpoint?

Halo CEA (As all Halo’s) will revert you to your last checkpoint. When you are exiting, you may not have recently had a checkpoint, which may have been causing your problem.

I thought that was the Whole Idea/Point behind Checkpoints and such??? Maybe I don’t understand what the post creator is stating…

halo CEA will not take you back to the last checkpoint.
you can save, quit and resume, but you can’t turn off your console and continue the next day: you will have to restart the mission from the beginning.

You have to save and quit otherwise it sends you to the beginning of the level. I found this out while trying to get the banshee on AotCR on Legendary, I was pissed when I found out I forgot I had to Save and Quit

i can save&quit all i want - when i go to bed and try to resume the next day, i always have to start over again.

Exactly the same problem here and it’s frustrating me to the point that I don’t even want to bother finishing the game! I played the level to find the Cartographer last night for quite a while, and after I found it I felt it was too late to play anymore so I saved and quit. I came back this morning to continue and it’s restarting me at the very beginning of the level, losing me over an hour of play! I don’t even want to bother continuing to just play exactly the same portion over again 12 hours later.

UPDATE: I just tried saving and quitting then resuming after the “It’s Quiet” portion of “The Silent Cartographer” and it restarted me just before “It’s Quiet”, not after it like I would have expected.

Combat Evolved never had missions separated into rally points. You could save and quit, but you don’t start where you left off. Halo 2 began to introduce rally points. Unfortunatly, you won’t get any level specific achievements if you start at a rally point. This lack of checkpoints is what made the original difficult.

Are you playing co-op and then returning to the level on solo? You can only resume if you played it solo.
