RESTRUCTURE THE RARITY SYSTEM ON ARMOR PIECES

Currently, the rarity system for armor pieces and cores doesnt have any meaning in the game
the fact that both have a rarity that goes from common to legendary makes me think 343 could take advantage from this system and make something valuable like the requisition packs from Halo 5 where a legacy piece had the mythic rarity
Adding a progression system, aside from the battle pass and store items, it would be an ideal alternative for the players.
As a player, i always look for a feeling of reward for my time, effort and patience in the game. A change to the item value system would give something that would be appreciated in replayability.

Personally just get rid of the Rarity system all together, the specialty about the Armor should be about what you like or what fits well on your Spartan

The only way to make it relevant is if they ever start giving choices of what to unlock and you only get to choose from a certain rarity tier.

Otherwise it’s just pointless clutter in the UI.

It exists so they can overcharge for items if they want to.

Where all the helmets in the game should probably be the same price, a Blue rarity helmet will probably only cost 200-300 credits, while a Gold rarity could cost 700.

I can understand if you want to make certain armor pieces slightly more prestigious because they belong to an actual canon character or have a special effect attached to them (examples like a vizor that glows instead of shines or something). But this game has no purpose for a full blown rarity system for most of this armor.

It’s not Destiny, where exotic armor and weapons actually have unique special effects, and are more rare or require special missions to get via gameplay. And other gear rarities were designed to give your character progression from a fresh start to an endgame character decked out in purples.

To add to this:

You also can’t sell armor for xp or credits. Like in H5 where you could sell REQ cards for REQ points. I did this with cards that I either didn’t like or had way too many of.

I think the rarity should be based on how many people actually bought/earned the item. The more people who unlock/buy it the less rare it becomes.
