Every few games I’ll have the lobby start filling up, then it’ll just randomly empty.
The process is like this:
–Searching for players…
–Connecting Session…
–<Lobby begins to fill>
–<Lobby is full, teams have not yet been assigned>
–Restarting search…
–<Lobby is now empty>
No error messages, no window popups, it just empties without a warning. Sometimes it’ll do it two searches in a row.
I’ve got an ethernet cable, Open NAT, high speed internet, all the usual good stuff and it’s only doing this in the MCC for me. Hoping to bring this to attention so if it’s a problem with the game itself it can be looked into, and at the very least maybe it put up a message as to WHY it’s resetting the search, like how Halo 5 has messages for why a match fails to load (Disconnected from the server, Request to Join has Timed Out, etc)
EDIT As an update, I’ve had several games be found in or around thirty seconds after the last game, and it STILL restarts the search. This can’t be based on a timer in that case.
I think it happens because it took too long (?)
Like it was in H3: there’s a timer after which you will restart the research, even if you have found a corwd lobby.
I have always thought this was the reason, but it is actually unlike to be the only one

It’ll happen even in the Yappening 4v4 playlist, searches for about a minute or two and then it restarts the search. Other times (like in custom playlists) it’ll go up to ten minutes and still launch the game. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason when it comes to that, other than it seems to do it every few games.
Terribly sorry if this counts as a bump or whatever, but I’d like to provide an update on this.
I checked my games during a search. 4v4, all games enabled (Yes, even Halo 3), and all game modes enabled. The searches went like this
–32 seconds. Lobby found, immediate restart.
–27 seconds. Lobby found, immediate restart.
–35 seconds. Lobby found, immediate restart.
–23 seconds. Lobby found, game launches.
There’s no way that there’s a “timer” involved here. This has actually been going on since the second Flight back when, as I mentioned a few times in other threads. I’ve reported it during the Flighting and mentioned it to people on Twitter, absolutely nothing was said about it even being a niche rarely occurring thing. I just want them to know and be aware this is a thing, and while it’s only “merely” annoying when it happens in short searches, it’s terribly frustrating to have it happen over and over and over and over again. If it’s something going on with the game itself, then great they can track it down and fix it before the PC launches and they have to deal with this too. If it’s something on my end somehow (I have a high speed internet and its connected via cable though) then great, I’d like to know that and possibly try and do something about it.

Yeah there’s something wrong with mcc i’m guessing. I’m searching btb. I find a full match in moments, chooses the teams, then instantly restarts. This happens repeatedly 20+ times until i get lucky and finally find 1 game.

This is insane man, you’d think after being out for so long they’d atleast give us a reach around and IDENTIFY the prob lol. Whatever Bungie, im sure theyre busy af these days…
This happens to me every time i try doing multiplayer. I try joining a game, have a full lobby within seconds, teams be assigned and the search will restart and force me to leave. I can barely even play multiplayer.
Heres as simple as i can make it: 343, fix your matchmaking to NOT restart a search if the lobby is full!
