After the transfer to 343 I haven’t played much of Reach, recently i decided to pop the game in and play a few matches only to realize I would always get restarting search.
How can I fix this and what’s causing it?
I have tried the following:
- Port forwarding (NAT type is open)
Deleting and downloading my profile
Reach has had superb online quality the last few months, only the last few days have I experienced slight lag and this ‘restarting search’ problem.
I expect it to be fixed within the coming days. 
Well see every time I have tried to play the game sense march of 2012 it says this, and I have been going though random match making matches for 3 hours every match has this restarting search
anyone?
And how long does it usually take to find a game?
It doesn’t I select a gametype, It finds players, we vote on a map, and it counts down when the game selects a map it kicks me out and states that it’s restarting search. It’s an infinite loop I tested this while I slept.

Check your game disc for scratches. My disc was scratched to hell, and it would load all the way to the part with the maps, it would boot me out right after that. If you did it all night, be prepared to have a quit probation when you get it working.

This happened to me on H3. I was like WTF!!! Come to find out, it was my disc. Got a new ODST disc for cheap, and it worked fine!
all i had to do was to load the maps on a custom game. simple.
I always get load failures or restarting searches and my disc is scratch free, dirt free, finger print free, crackless, and looks brand new.

This ia a possibility, this also occasionally counts as a quit for the players who aren’t host which is pathetic.
