How Halo 2’s 1-50 ranking system worked: Rank up for wins, rank down for losses. Matchmaking uses rank to pair players by skill level. Good players play against good players, bad players play against bad players. Both sides are happy.
There doesn’t need to be a “suck ban” if Halo Infinite implements Halo 2’s system.
I guess you didn’t get the sarcastic tone of the thread. I ubderstood it more as a general criticism towards 343 “solving” problems by banning people. Which is in the end just plain stupid and lazy.
Humor can be hard to understand on the internet. That’s why I often use /s. I don’t know if it’s a universal thing, but people on Reddit do it. I wish it wasn’t necessary, but it seems through text there is always someone who won’t understand you’re being sarcastic
You realize the issue with the 1-50 rank system of old is that rank 1 is not populated by low-skill players, it’s where everyone is lumped at the beginning. There’s always gonna be someone who started the game with prior experience and will just flatten all the actual low-level players as he steadily moves up the ranks, so ultimately the unskilled player will never truly play a match where everyone shares his skill level. It’s the equivalent of making bronze act as unranked from which everybody starts and moves up, it’s basically social with a number until you reach the higher ranks.
