Response to Staten

There is so much to read in between the lines here.
And thats a good thing.
But, when reading between the lines, your personal point of view plays a factor.
I wish they would have delayed this game so much.
I really wish it wasnt Free to Play.
But its too late.
Im ok with whats going to be a snails pace of progression on the “hotlist”, if it means 343 employees can have quality of life.
I hope 343-microsoft has learned a lesson about contract employees, and management. seriously

Who knows what bs they’ve eaten, and then all their work winds up being slammed.
The community underestimated the affect the two leads quitting had on 343, id say.
Thats a mental kick in the balls.
Heres a suggestion
Please make a “hotlist” acknowledging as many issues the community has pointed out/identified and share it, so we can experience this together.
Obviously not anti-cheat, but keep us in the loop.
Cough- fix 152 watchdog-cough #hotlist priority #230
This official forum is not really used by 343 for anything.
Post and sticky right up top.
You have highly talented mods here to mod that one thread.
You have the best fans in gaming here. (Cept banned ones, but thats another battle)
Let the community managers do their job. Here.
Its slower than twitter, or reddit. Or okcupid.
Better for work-life, way way better.
Ive said things i wish i could take back on the net, but only because i use things like instagram or reddit for a lot more than halo.
So to use them as part of work will emotionally compromise you. Better for the mind that way.
Its the existing official message board.
It feels like everything is backwards, 343 engages readily on twitter, reddit, and I feel that should be rare with most public communication done HERE. Call it old school.
Wow im baked.
Im not expecting anything anymore.
They wont get any purchases from me until I want to buy.
Right now I dont want to buy.
Doesnt mean never.
Emotions aside, its a waste of money.
Expect nothing major unless 343 starts making breakthroughs.
Frustratingly, expect every aspect of the store to work great. Its the easiest and best functioning aspect of Infinite. Its not broken or still in development.
Everything else will take a year at least.
No mention of forge monetization, yet. Who are these prominent forgers betaflighting?
Do they exist?
Will we be getting PvE Eventually?
Now lets see how long I can just Lurk, not post about this clusterfrack

They learned nothing, they made more money than ever probably, selling the campaign as a full game, what a joke …

They’ll probably do the exact same thing because it made them a **** load of money in the short term, and if the game dies they’ll just make another…

Nah. We are all stuck with this game.
I wonder if it would be quicker and cheaper to switch to the unreal engine than fixing what 343 currently has.

This is their third major messed up launch. They don’t learn and that’s the most frustrating part.

I figured i owed it to myself to get baked and write up something i thought would be helpful.
Everytime ive posted here ive taken only a few minutes.
I feel for people who lost the original message boards. Some of those folks poured their hearts out then too.
Its hard to believe halo has come to this.
What exactly does a 343 community engagement employee do, anyway?

Time has changed, but not for the better.

I’m tired of games being destroyed that I have no more tolerance for multibillion dollar companies giving their BS excuses, especially having 6 years to creat a game that is way more than enough time to create a complete game with the resources they literally have.

Engage the community? But they haven’t really been very engaging. Most of the time it’s just replying to cheeky comments or something to bolster the viral-ability of the content, to garner more advertising.

That doesn’t really help, or address the actual content of his post Sodium. How about you(we) focus, and respond to what was said, not how it was said?

Sucks major balls lol.
Saw the staten update and toked.
I dont remember writing most of it, im amazed the spelling and formatting came out this good haha
Edit- in my defense, i did write that i was baked.
I think, lol, i was attempting to address both staten and the community, but it came out pretty rough.
First long post, probably last long post.

All good homie. His name is sodium bath, afterall. Haha no offense taken.
Its just me getting wasted when i realized that nothing worthwhile is going to happen with infinite for at least a year, and the 343 community team is never going to interact here.
My brother and I found our original xboxs a couple days ago along with the vhs tapes we recorded our lans on to review and improve our strats.
Yeah, our group did that. By vcr.
Looking at infinite, the theater is broken and probably will never be fixed, like halo 5’s.
Feel me?

Yea, I’ve noticed that after a game or two all of the previous theater videos are unable to be viewed. It’s horrendous at this point, and I’m trying to put my head around WHY it’s so bad. It makes no sense, aside from they just haven’t put the time and effort into fixing it, and don’t care enough to do so.

Could you imagine what would happen in the doom community if leads from 343 were sent over?
Or the mw community if one of their games launched without team deathmatch? That they were removing all progression except what was in the battlepass?
A revolt.
Its time for another team to handle halo, from the top down to the community managers, its its its…just awful. For years

Joseph Staten isn’t the company head you know?

On August 26, 2020, 343 Industries announced Staten joined the team as Campaign Project Lead for Halo Infinite.”

I know. I love the guy.
Im responding to his update

Yes but he would have highest interest of infinite not to fail not for money but he was one main writer’s 1, 2 and 3. So he would be best voice for community.

I read story’s on halo 2 and 3 and video games industry urge congress not to pay overtime in half. So programmer putting 80 hours on crunch time.

So if video industry moving away from that then I be fine if that is real problem that they only want 40 hour work week.

So their issue is not saying that and allow people believe that 343 is evil that they only care about dollar and not work they do.

Staten is one urge the delay in halo. He might be one told then delay co op.

You’ve spoken the absolute truth, yet have been silenced because of it; 343i has shown their true colors, and they are the most cowardly shade of yellow; incapable of facing their deserved criticism with enough humility to actually take it into their weak, rotten hearts and to try to change for the better.

That’s it; a campaign needs to be formed & directed, to get Phil Spencer’s direct attention and with the set goal of having the Halo franchise put in the hands of an actual capable development team from among the many that are now under the Microsoft banner. This time, it has to happen. Enough is enough.

Uh ok lol
I really wonder if some of the people who post do it to get threads shut down.

Honestly.

Some people you can begin to tell who has not matured past the age of 14. There are a few you can find on the forums, like this one guy who obsessively made alt-accounts to spout the same nonsense over and over again while targeting certain users with generic and uninspired profanity.

the immediate assumption of bad faith that ends up spoiling the conversation for everyone else.

its very annoying

Truth hurts, 343 higher-ups are running Halo into the ground and Microsoft isn’t doing anything about it. That right there is a huge part of the problem.

It’s like looking at Activision, I don’t like them either, but at least they were Intelligent enough to push Bungie while they were there to do their job. 343 has had over a decade with Halo so you are right, enough is enough with the BS excuses.
