Resigning in Three Versus Three...

It is rampant. Over the last few days and at least twenty matches all but one have been without an ally or enemy resigning… I mean, what is the point? What motive is there to do this? You are not awarded points if you are not but the least bit active throughout the match. Not a digit.

The only point I can think of would be to drop there TS down low so they can play against noobs, and maybe boost up there rank or something, idk, but odds are if their resigning their not worth the time to play with.

No clue. 2 days ago I play a 3vs3 and when we started a team mate send a ghost to my base and then quit…perhaps he didn’t like the color of my base.

I’m left wondering why there are three new topics with people whining about quitters -.-

quitters happen, Personally I quit when I figure the current match is un-winnable (This usually happens about the 30 Minuit mark when I realise my allies still have no units and that the only reason we haven’t been eliminated yet is because of my army keeping all three enemies back -.-, this is the point whee I typically give up.)

Never surrender!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I never quit, is non-sport and a pain in the -Yoink- for your team mates.

The situation you describe, I will stay, if they don’t have units yet it probably be because they are new or no one teach them, we all been new and have the same right any one has to learn.

Stay and try to teach them, if you meet them on the future they will sure improve.

^Even when I first started playing it didn’t take me 30mins to build a veh depo or air pad and start making units, I at least had a full army but 10mins into the game.

Did your copy of Halo Wars not come with the skirmish option? You get to learn by fighting the AI, that’s where you learn…Failing that try the “Halo Wars Advanced Tutorial”…If giving the enemy a learning opportunity is your reason for not resigning early then maybe you should try a party team based playlist? Ironic how you’re talking about helping the newbies learn, when knowing when the game’s over and having the decency to resign is one of the main things most players appreciate…

I dunno, I saw a copy of the official guide In my local Game store a while ago and decided to take a peak, it had guides for UNSC suggesting they go reactor 1st or 2nd in skrims, which I can’t see any benefit in. I mean Yay I have tech 1…Oh wait I can’t do anything with it yet.

i was playing a 3v3 last night, went well until my friend lost connection and two of my opponents also left.

You already know what i think of “quitting is the right thing” and its already been speak(enlist with me). And the “advance tutorial” doesn’t teach you how to be competent against experience players.

And with my apologizes, I m not going to discuss this any further.

Talking to a blind person here…

> Talking to a blind person here…

You master irony my friend.

if people want to quit out they quit out. they don’t need a reason to do so and there isn’t any penalty for it.

if they feel that they’re in a game with players they don’t like(players with higher/lower skill, players with no mics, players that get overly aggressive towards team mates) then there is nothing wrong with them quitting from the match and searching for another game that they feel comfortable in. and if your team quits out you can stay in and attempt to 1v3/1v2 or just quit yourself if you don’t think you can win.

the only kind of quitting that I despise is when a player quits out in the first few seconds because of the opposing teams leader combination. that is just pathetic. same for quitting out because the other team is all generals; most generals actually boosted to get the achievement and can be as bad as legit recruits or even worse.

there are also a bunch of second account-ers and multi-account-ers that could have low ranks but actually be really good players. so don’t just quit out if your team is 2 recruits against a team of generals.

Blame the rushers. The rushers ruin it for everyone else so they self destruct to make sure they don’t get any points.lol

yes blame the people who actually know how to play a strategy game, anyone not harassing does not get the concept of the game…no harassment game:forge wins every time lets everybody be boring and use forge…

Points mean absolutely nothing, but thanks for the free win

It’s hardly the rusher’s fault if someone else resigns, evidently the victim isn’t good enough, or willing enough to try and fight off the attack. If they weren’t resigning because of that then they’d resign once they knew they were out anyway.

  1. Resign due to bad team mates
  2. Resign due to a rush (that you can’t fight off)
  3. Resign to troll
  4. Resign due to the fact you’ve obviously been outmatched and you’d rather not waste your, or your opponent’s time due to the fact that points mean nothing in this game.
  5. Resign to lower trueskill because your competition is too good, or for some boosting technique
  6. Resign due to you or your teammate lagging out
  7. Resign due to boredom.
  8. Resign to bad combo/map cohesion

Can’t think of anymore, but having an enemy resign is a sign of you being so much better than them that they can’t bring themselves to try and fight you =D It’s probably annoying if you’re going for rank, but that means so little that you shouldn’t let it bother you =)

i dont usually resign but when i do its because ive been rushed. Also alot of generals rush which is probably why people resign when put against them

> i dont usually resign but when i do its because ive been rushed. Also alot of generals rush which is probably why people resign when put against them

You should scout in advance - scouting in this game is easier than in any other RTS game. Any rush in this game can be stopped with proper preparation. Playing 1v1 is the best way to learn.

i usually play 3v3 and i can hold off a rush for a while as covenant but not so well as unsc. i use my warthog to scout then leave it halfway between an me and the enemy bases as an early warning system
