These are the main games in the series. There are also other titles which I’m not too familiar with that I’m sure someone will be happy to provide more info on.

Thank you, so the best idea would be to get an Xbox for getting them all, right ?

That depends, while the majority of the Halo games are only available on console. Halo Infinite will be available on PC as well as a few fan made games will be coming to PC. If you have a decent enough PC and the patience to wait, just wait for the next releases.

It’s still never bad to go back and play the older Halos though. MCC is (finally) being fixed. I imagine that they’ll flush it out to have a content/customs browser and other features that are being heavily suggested.

Short answer, Xbox is the best way to experience all the games. However, H5: Forge (the separate game, not the game mode) is only available on PC.

If you want to play them all right now, the easiest route would be an Xbox One with the following games:

  • Halo MCC (contains Halo CE, 2, 3, 4 and optionally ODST)
  • Halo Reach (playable on Xbox One)
  • Halo 5: Guardians
  • Halo Wars Definitive Edition
  • Halo Wars 2.

There remains the possibility that once 343 and Microsoft are done patching MCC that it could arrive on PC but I don’t see this happening whilst they’re working on fixing the game as porting it to PC could create new problems. It would be more efficient to fix the Xbox version and then port it to PC so it has the best chance of performing and selling well.

All future Halo titles will be released on PC alongside their Xbox counterpart as per Microsofts new strategy with unifying the ‘Xbox’ brand across platforms. However, if you’re looking to play the games right now, then I agree with Tuhin94 that the Xbox One is currently the best way to play the entire series.

If you don’t currently own an Xbox One, consider taking a look at the Xbox One X as it offers improvements to the following games:

  • Halo 3 running through backwards compatibility (receives a massive boost in native resolution from 640p to 1920p and looks much sharper)
  • Halo 5: Guardians (receives a massive boost to native resolution from a dynamic sub 1080p image to a dynamic near 4K resolution, greatly improving image quality)
  • Halo MCC (all Halo titles run at native 4k with the exception of Halo 2 in ‘Anniversary’ mode)

If you don’t own a 4K TV, the Xbox One X will downsample the image to your display, which will still look much better than a sub 720p in Halo 3’s case or sub 1080p image in Halo 5 Guardians case.

That said, the games are still great on a regular Xbox One so it’s really down to you whether or not you want to wait, play the games right now and even then which Xbox to get.

Ok thank you all for the answers, i’ve already made some reseearch for getting the xbox one X, i have found one pack that could interest me a bit , so i will wait a bit and think about it, again, many thanks.
