I was thinking that with the marine rescue missions, wouldn’t it be nice to also have missions where you rescue ODST and Spartan 4’s, and depending on which group or person, are how many enemies and the rank they will be?
Like can you imagine you are going to rescue a Spartan 4, and they are being guarded by some Cheiftans. Or you go to rescue some ODST’s and you have to deal with the Banished stealth group.
It makes sense since ODST’s and Spartans are much more dangerous then marines and such would want to keep them better defended
It could well happen throughout campaign, If I remember correctly a while back there was mention of voice recordings of another spartan/s, so they come into it somehow
I’d be okay with this. Anything that helps add variety. Maybe you stumble upon a bunch of drop pods that have been raided and weathered. You follow a foot path and discover a squad of ODSTs that have been hiding and holding out in an outcropping of rocks or a cave.
I actually love the idea but I personally think we should add types of marines with purposes on top of it. Like UNSC troops having varients for example a fire odst with a flame thrower and has red and black coloring or a sniper troop has a cloaking device. I think it just adds more depth to our side since its really feels like marines are useless and spartens are gods.
Aside from troops I hope you’ll be able to salvage vehicles, weapons, etc so that you’d able to summon them up at the base locations. There could also be rarer map spawns that can’t be summoned. Just imagine clearing out a Banished Scarab and taking that for a joy ride.
I would love this but I’m not expecting it. ODSTs have not been confirmed and at this point I’m starting to suspect that if we haven’t seen them in the marketing they won’t be in the game. 343 has clearly focused their efforts on the cosmetics and monetization for multiplayer and neglected to make a fully flushed out and interesting campaign.
it makes sense when you think of the forces on the UNSC Infinity has its own Spartans & ODST I dunno you could probably have use in saving them and give you a sort of bonus to any Fort defence in the game.
I wish the Marines we rescued were a permanent resource, that they were NCPs that if they die they never return. Being the dynamics of the game that of being able to rescue them with the pelican, to later have them when we want to request them.
So it would be really important to rescue the Marines, and to worry about keeping them safe.
If this were the case I would probably never bring them with me. Marines are comparatively fragile and I wouldn’t want to be responsible for their deaths.
I hope we can also save some swords because elite allies are fun when you have them, them and spartan IV’s are the only time it isn’t protect them and instead is work with these guys to kill everything.
I would definitely be game to rescue more than just marines as others have said. Maybe if humanity is still allied with the covenant faction that is with the arbiter, it would be cool to rescue them as well.
Yes there is a difference as we know it here on earth. Usually in history a full declaration of war between 2 countries would mean being fully obedient to the Geneva convention but even then what happened on the ground stayed on the ground in some cases.
Then take the war in afghanistan as one example where lord help you if you were captured by the taliban,
I just think a faction like the banished, predominantly headed up by brutes would pretty much just kill everything that couldn’t be of some use to them.
Did you even read what I posted, The brutes have already shown in the novels that they don’t want to kill the humans, they are an enemy in a war so they are capturing people.
That and a live enemy captured is worth more then a dead one.
