I played all the Spartan Ops missions and saw all the episode videos. The episode videos were a great background for the missions. The missions themselves could have been better. There was too much backtracking and fixing the mistakes that were supposed be solutions. All in all Spartan Ops was entertaining. Not amazing, not great, not bad, or horrible…just entertaining. I personally hope there will be a season 2 (though having to pay for it would be a stupid move).
Moving on…the destruction of Requiem was just a terrible idea for a ending to season 1. Think about it they basically just threw out their entire plot. In Halo 4 everything was basically linked to Requiem and now they just threw it away. THEY JUST THREW IT AWAY! Requiem was even fully explained like “Where were these Prometheans coming from if the Composer was destroyed?” Also why would the Storm Covenant destroy a planet that was sacred to them? They worked their alien butts off trying to get to that planet and secure it from the humans and THEY JUST BLEW IT UP! It’s like if Christians found heaven and then were like we don’t need it anymore for the plot of life and just blew up heaven. Why did we not need Requiem anymore…oh yeah because of the Jannis key that shows were all Forerunner technology is all over the known universe. Also each side of the fighting factions has a piece and needs the other to fully use it. SO WHERE ARE THEY GOING TO GO TO NEXT? Well not Requiem because they BLEW IT UP!..sorry I feel like it needed to be said. Please add your opinions below. Do I have a point or do I have no idea what I am talking about?
I agree, there was so much potential revolving around Requiem, it truly was a shame to see it go like that… I mean, we’ve been waiting five years to find out what this strange planetoid would be, and then a few months after we get our answer, we get to watch it burn? It seems rather silly to me…
May want to change your topic name there to better reflect the spoiler alert! But yeah, I have no idea why they did what they did. It seemed a little…overboard.

Yeah when I re-read the post I was like…crap I thought that last part would be covered up.
> Agreed, change your title.
> Jul sought the didact and technology troves.
> He got what he came for and didn’t need requiem anymore.
Still seems like a pretty big design flaw for anybody to be able to send Requiem into a star…but then again it was done merely because it was the best they could think of.
The only reason they went to Requiem first was to find the Didact. That plan failed.
Then they return to grab the Janus Key from the Librarian. They (from what they knew) got it.
Humans are meddling all over this sacred planet, and they can get the technology to destroy the Covenant here.
Jul is a smart leader. And he isn’t blinded by religion (Jul is the only one who really isn’t worshipping the Forerunners anymore, misleading the Storm Covenant). He knew that they got what they came here for, and that Humanity could not be allowed to get ahold of Requiem. So Requiem was destroyed with the hope Infinity would go down with it.
The Janus Key unlocks the location of all Forerunner tech inthe galaxy. They don’t need Requiem anymore. Jul is the Didact’s Hand, he leads them.
I will agree if was kind of odd for them to kill of the planet after so much suspense, but it unlocks the opportunity to go to new places. If they left Requiem active people would complain about how we just left a Forerunner Military Planet wide open, crawling with hostile Prometheans and filled with secrets and history.
Requiem probably didn’t have anything to offer other than studying the most basic of forerunner technologies. Um, you guys are aware that something highly important was destroyed in each of bungie’s halo games right? So if you guys are just now going to start complaining then i am taking this as a joke.
Clearly we are going to have more forerunner involvement and it isn’t like we don’t already have a shield world under human control.

You have a point, but I think they destroyed it too soon. They should have atleast told us where the Prometheans were coming from now that Composer was destroyed. Also is everyone satisfied with the title?

Or Requiem could’ve simply mysteriously vanished, leave a bit of mystery and then come back as a potential plot device. But I guess sending it into a star for the lols is better.

Sooner than when? You blow up installation 04 in HCE, You destroy a research station in halo 2, you blow up the freaking ark in halo 3, in reach you blow up some “incredibly important forerunner site” before we even know anything about it.
All of that, most notably the ark and you are upset requiem gets destroyed 6 months later? We saw a a crapload of requiem in the campaign and spartan ops, and how much of the ark did we see? We have more information on the shield world onyx than we do on the ark.

I just don’t see the buzz about it’s importance. It isn’t like it had a fleet of forerunner ships or anything since the planet was stripped down when the librarian imprisoned the Didact. It’s main importance was that it held the Didact and prometheans it’s destruction might me no more promethean knights.

It did have the Librarian AI inside it along with a potential fully functional base and research station for the UNSC. We really don’t know what else was in it and if the Librarian left the Didact ship inside, more ships could’ve been hidden awat.
“Requiem’s treasures will be ours.”
He got the Janus Key, no need to stick around here anymore.
Oh wait! I hate humans, isn’t that why I resent the Arbiter’s alliance with them? Okay then, I know they’re stranded here because of the Artifact’s gravitational pull…maybe I should just blow them up, strike a blow to humanity, so they don’t come back to Earth with Promethean intel and a -Yoink- ton of information on the Storm Covenant! Also, just so more pesky humans try to venture here again, I’m blowing this place to kingdom come!
Weird thing, our good friend Jul didn’t know there were TWO pieces for the Janus Key. If the Infinity and her crew died, he should have fun looking for the remnants in sun.
I get the feeling that I am being misinterpreted. Though this is my fault for making Requiem seem like the most important Forerunner shield world ever. This is article is more about how Requiem’s destruction leaves us off. All we now know is that the Janus Key pieces are super important and that Halsey is pissed. Though now we don’t know about what’s going to happen next. The Janus key doesn’t work unless the two pieces are together…well the Librarian told Catherine to go to the absolute record or whatever, so that might be a start.
The (Lesser) Ark didn’t blow up or get destroyed, it was damaged. With Requiems destruction and both parties containing both halves of the Janus Key, it might lead them to The Greater Ark.

The Lesser Ark was obliterated and can no linger serve its purpose. A few sections still have life support, but it sure as hell isn’t going to work properly any time soon.
