Requiem Painting - Please, check this out! :)

Hi everyone!

Well, this is actually my first topic on Halo Waypoint. I know Halo for many years, love it, love the story and characters and I love the images of the Halos, the space, the wonderful landscapes. Halo games’ magic and wonders fascinates me so it will be always an inspiration to me.

I know Halo since 2003, maybe (well, since it came out to PC) and I paint acrylic in canvas since the end of 2005 (since I was 11). Well, it’s 2013 and I’m 19 now.

I painted maybe one or two canvas inspired in the Halo universe (ike the waterfall in the beggining of “Halo”, 2nd mission of CE), (another painting with planets and moons and the space full of stars). Wel, actually you can’t tell any of those paintings were inspired in Halo cause there is nothing that tells you it’s Halo.

Recently, I was at college just getting inspired once again. I made a lot of drawings also with space landscapes and planets and all, but this time I also drew Halos, and those strange structures we see everywhere and make us (at least me) atonished for how great they are, how huge and timeless.

This is the first of many (hopefully), so I would love to see what Halo Fans think of my Requiem Painting (Sorry that that is a facebook link, but it was the only way.)

I have some friends that are Halo fans who liked it. Let’s see what other Halo fans think  I would love to have your opinion!

If you liked, then wait for more

Also, check my Impact Painting, the one I did before the Requiem Painting.

Gonna wait for your comments.

| Greetings and welcome to Waypoint!
I hope you enjoy your stay here with us.
As for your work, they both look very well done.

For the Requiem piece not sure how I feel about the “tear” in the sky,
but it’s very colorful, unique and the structures are wonderfully painted.
As for the Impact painting it’s done just as well, and I love how you added
the shadow from the moon covers part of the planet in darkness.

I noticed you said Facebook is the only place for you to post your art.
However there are other places such as Photobucket or Deviant Art where you can upload your work safely. I hope that helps.
Once again welcome to the site! |

Very Nice. How long did it take you to paint and was it something that you just did spontaneously?

Thanks for you comments! Means a lot to me! Liked reading :stuck_out_tongue:

As for the Facebook part… That’s not the only place I have my paintings. I do have an account on Deviantart, but unfortnatley that’s not the place people visit the most, or comment the most so I created a page on Facebook. It’s easier for people to follow. If you want to visit my deviantart, here it is: http://catpt93.deviantart.com/
Funny but actually the first place where I uploaded my paintings was in a blog I created so long ago.

Thanks for the comments, once again

Really good paintings man. I like the style and the way you used shadows in the craters on the impact painting is really effective. May I ask what you use to paint these?

Hi! Thanks for coming

Well, it took me a while to paint. In a space of between 1 to 2 weeks, I painted like in 5 days (you know, some pauses). In most of those days i painted during afternoon/night.

It was, yes, kind of spontaneously. When I drew the sketch in college, in a boring class, I just remembered of the 2nd mission of Halo 4. I just wanted inspiration, not something to be equal. I don’t like to copy  So, the structures were made the way I remembered and the landscape too. And once that world isn’t a natural world and it’s closed, I wanted to paint that rip in the sky so people would understand that all of that isn’t natural, despite the green grass and the bushes and all of it. People that don’t know Halo. The structures also were supposed to recall Requiem, but I also didn’t want it to be exactly the same. They are quite different, actually. The rest… Everything comes spontaneously. When I paint I just got an idea of what drawings or colors I will use, but sometimes I’m not exactly sure :stuck_out_tongue: Although the blue from the structures came from the real structures of Requiem, http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/featured/microsoft/343industries/halo4/conceptart/resized/world610.jpg <from here. It’s more close to black, but it gave me ideas.

Glad you like it.

First, please don’t call me man. I’m more woman than man (don’t consider much of a woman cause I’m 19 only) ahahah

God, don’t talk me about that shadows! That was difficult because the crucial point was between the walls and the floor of the crater (you can call it that). It was hard to limit those and still use the shadows in a believable way. Actually I had the idea of painting that since I first saw this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6g1yyWEfks at 2:38. Of course I added everything else, the planet, the moon.

Anyway, I’m sorry but I can’t really figure what you are asking on what I used to paint “these”. “these” meaning the paintings or the shadows on Impact? You know, like… I used acrylic inks and just a brush in the shadows and craters. And for all the paintings I also use acrylic inks and some brushes, and quite an amount of time. Did I answer your question?

You don’t need to apologize. I’m glad I answered your question.
