Request: Halo Anthology

I would like to request a new game called “Halo Multiplayer Anthology.”

This would probably have to be a multi-disc set, with extra maps being installed to the hard drive.

The Halo Anthology should include EVERY multiplayer map ever made from every Halo FPS game. It would include maps from Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Reach, and Halo 4, as well as the PC only maps.

It should have multiple versions of the same map (eg: Blood Gulch, Coagulation, Hemmorage) with the various changes included in each game.

It would feature the return of Dual Wielding, and every weapon ever made throughout the Halo series.

You’d have the option to play the map with classic physics like Halo CE and Anniversary, Physics like Halo 2 and 3 with options to dual wield and carry equipment, and Physics like Halo Reach and 4 with Loadouts and Armor Abilities.

Another feature that should be looked into (if not limited by hardware) is a mass multiplayer Slayer, Team Slayer, and CTF. Something that could include 40 players on a large map like Coagulation.

A second idea for a game would be “Halo Campaign Anthology.”

This should include the campaigns of Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Reach and Halo 4, all allowing online Multiplayer gaming.

I just want a cheap way to get the Halo 2 map packs.

If such game was ever made, there would be no reason to release it now. We still have at least two Halo games coming, so releasing a Halo anthology now would make no sense. In general, the plan seems very effort demanding. If there ever is a chance for such a collection, it should simply consists of all the individual Halo games, preferably with online multiplayer made possible for the games that have no support for it anymore (but not necessarily any matchmaking additions to CE, if it’s too much trouble).

But honestly, I don’t see a lot of chances for it. Such a release would no doubt demand a lot of work to do. I don’t even know how much code would need to be rewritten to make Halo CE Xbox Live compatible, to make modern Xbox Live support Halo 2, and to make all the games from CE to 4 run on next generation hardware. Ultimately, I don’t know how succesful it would be. Unless it was some sort of special edition of Halo 6, I don’t see it getting enough sales to justify its existence. But then again, that purely depends on the development effort required.

My reasoning for this is there are many maps from the first games that have never been re-released. When I heard Anniversary was coming out, I expected all of the Halo CE Multiplayer maps to be included. Instead, we got a few of them released as a map pack for Halo Reach.

I want to play on Chiron TL-34, Derelict, Sidewinder and Wizard from Halo CE. I want to play Relic, Foundation, Sanctuary, Turf, Backwash, Gemini, Terminal from Halo 2. I want to play these maps online again with friends.

If anything, I’d accept a map-pack released with all of the old maps.

I honestly think that if a multiplayer anthology were to be released, we’d have to wait until 343 Industries have absolutely completed general storyline. I do think it’d be great to pick which game and its matching multiplayer, but also maybe offer up a completely dedicated anthology set of playlists that pretty much mosh everything all rolled into 1, maybe some that mix the separates games’ maps and multiplayer experiences across game and variant within its corresponding playlist. Man so man new things I wish they’d do, too, like I’ve always wants to be able to play as any species from the other factions, Covenant, Forerunner, etc, maybe attribute them a lttle as the case of Reach and Halo 4 for expanded, give them something new than just your sort of beatdowns from Reach, I forget what they called hem, but expand it or just give them more environmental interactivity. Just generlized things that maybe make it feel more like an all-out war, more destructable map stuff, if they decide they can ever actually take the series that far with suchextremes, make it feel more alive.
