Request for an Homage to a friend that just passed

Dear 343i,
Before I get to the topic on hand, I want to talk about the inspiration this game gave me. Way back in 2018, when Halo Infinite was revealed, I was very excited. The classics of the game was resonating within the reveal of the new game itself. Bungie’s creation and legacy was relit by the fire of hope. A year later, the reveal of one of the cutscene’s of Halo infinite made me very nostalgic. It felt like I was brought back to Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3. I was overjoyed the day this was revealed and had tears of joy for the fire rekindled hope inside of me.
Later on the 14th of June, 2019, I was scrolling through social media, and I saw something very disturbing and sad.
My friend who was diagnosed with Leukemia 6 years ago, back when I was in high school with him, passed away on this day. He was not only a symbol embodying hope, but he was also a real fighter. It felt like he was just here yesterday, like I was in the computer lab of my high school playing video games with him again. He graduated High school eventually and we even went to the same college, which was Ohio State University. He left a print everywhere he went, whether it be a small community, to a large bustling university. He was fighting Leukemia two times and won those two times. It was years since he had his chemotherapy, and on the third time, he fought really hard. The fight was like Halo 3, when it was “finish the fight”. Our community had high hopes for him to succeed in his battle. This time, his odds were against him. When the doctors had checked to see if the treatment was working, it was not. He was given 2-3 weeks to live. On June 14th, 2019, he lost his battle to cancer. I felt like I had lost someone I loved, even though we weren’t related. Everyone in my community, was impacted. We live 20 minutes away from Ohio State University, in Franklin County by Worthington district schools. We always had a saying in our high school, from a philosopher named Rudyard Kipling. His phrase is taken as we went from high school to college, and it was this:
“The Strength of the wolf is the pack, and for the strength of the pack is the wolf”.
This man wasn’t only part of the pack of thousands of students in our high school, he was a symbol of hope. He had faced the odds that wouldn’t be possible without his friends, families, doctors, and what the master chief had, luck. In the end, we mourned. How could someone who had so much in it for them in life, just be gone, in an instant. The very symbol of our school was lost to a disease.
But this was not the end. It was only the beginning. In our efforts as a community, we raised almost 20,000 dollars for the medical expenses for him, and made every donation count. His family is in pain, but there is comfort to be brought to them. He was an inspiration to all of us. He was our Master Chief. through fights and more fights, he was more than just a regular human being. He was our hope of saving a once lost humanity. I only wish to request that he be immortalized within the new “Halo Infinite”, since he was a fan of the halo franchise as well, in any form. His name is Drew George, and he will be missed. #DrewStrong #DrewStrong4ever
If anyone wants to help, even if you don’t know him, it would mean the WORLD to me if you could help donate to cover the medical expenses of the family of my friend here.
