REQ system, what's good, and what are some ideas

Hi everyone,
I wanted to know your thoughts on the req system, I for one would:

  • make RANDOM req packs a bit cheaper - add packs that are a bit more expensive, but you can get a certain weapon with a bunch of other REQ’s (maybe make the req collection something more than a place to sell mongeese) - make vehicles have a better REQ value, so they sell for more - make bronze packs very rarely give uncommons, and make common perms a little more common (they are as rare as getting an extermination meddle for me)these are just some ideas from the top of my head, i’d love to hear from other people
    thanks

I’d like to have REQ packs cheaper just like you and different types of pack : a skin/armor pack, a weapon pack and a vehicle pack.

It would be easier to get the piece of armor you really want or stuff like that.

Nothing about the Req system is good. The End.

not even a reason as to why? I know people dont like the REQ system, but there has to be SOMETHING that you like, dont get me wrong, I dont like it, but there are probrably ways to keep it in the game, but improve it for other players, so once again, any suggestions?

I like the system, is good. The only thing that in my experience can be better is like the packs where you can get a lot of the same weapon of vehicle, like ten helios for one million reqs or 10 Endgame for 100 usd, things like that.

Not really a fan of the whole randomized thing. I understand that its likely the future of all games, but I’d rather them go back to the buy whatever you’d like with credits style. Or even better complete challenges to unlock armors or emblems.

  • The entire idea of unlocking stuff in a random order is bad, especially when the unlocks are padded to the brim with countless vehicle variants, 689546908 different loadout weapon configurations or “certifications” for weapons and vehicles. - SINGLE USE Reqs! If you don’t want the classic vehicle combat where stuff is standing around on the map, maybe design something that unlocks vehicles and stuff for you to call down through good gameplay (maybe something like the kill/scorestreaks in COD). - Unlocking other content (armor, weapon skins, emblems/playercards,…) could be a mix between general XP/credits/progression and challenges. In my opinion the credit system is the best. Nothing is locked behind a challenge that some are trying to farm and hinder gameplay for the others and you can decide what you want to save up for.

BUT I must say how I really appreciate the unlock system in MCC. Nothing is timegated or locked through some dumb stuff. If they change it to a system where I can choose what to unlock (like described above), it would be perfect. The quality of the content can (and hopefully will) be better, because you don’t need to pad out the system with bogus unlocks (see Halo 5).

Empower the player!

The system is terrible. I would rather it disappeared but, if it stayed I would choose your suggestion over what we have now. Too bad it won’t be changed as the game is 5 years old and it doesn’t affect me anymore because I, like most players, have all the items.

Flat out terrible. It’s a clear cash grab, no matter how anyone tries to pitch it. Firefight, especially, is not nearly as fun as it would be without consumables. Imagine, for example, how much better it would be if you could simply pick one power weapon at energy level 5 and one vehicle at level 8 from the entire pool, without having to open hundreds of packs to get one Phaeton? Or if you could access whatever weapon you wanted from a given set of weapons/vehicles for each round? Altering the REQ system isn’t the answer; removing it entirely is.

It’s a real disappointment Halo 5 has lootboxes and one of the reasons I can’t wait for Infinite is because I hope to again have the newest Halo game be purely a game, one that is free from a Halo-themed casino. But, time will tell if 343i will follow through on the promises for Infinite we have been given thus far.

This is exactly what I thought when I got a gauss hod cert in my first pack, all the way back at level 7.
