You know what is fun, opening Req packs and getting another version of a helmet you already have. That’s what I want out of a pack, a rare Recruit helm.
I actually like a lot of the aspects of the Req system but I find putting 3 sets of the same damn armor with slight stripe variations just so lazy. Like, what, was 343 so rushed or lazy that they had to artificially inflate the amount of req items by throwing in duplicates instead of just letting us customize it? The Req system feels like something they planned for a while but only put into the game in the last week or so of the development because someone in the office forgot. You obviously weren’t spending that time working on game modes judging by how few their are, your weren’t working on playlists, and you sure as hell weren’t working on vehicle mechanics so what the hell were you all doing? Why not just put one version of the damn armor and let the players customize it like any other self-respecting developer. NO ONE wants a rare version of the stupid armor they start off with. What the hell were you thinking 343? I am stuck getting duplicates instead of getting something useful like a damn DMR for Warzone. I have a friend who already has 6 DMRs and he is 10 levels lower than me. Nope, I get duplicates.
The helmets and armor are very similar making it a redundancy because they do look so much alike. Usually the difference is only a different paint job. Its even harder to appreciate when you are an Arena player, since 80% of the Req system was designed for Warzone. I have absolutely zero interest in opening Req pacs these days.

I feel as if all those armor sets were made just to cause bloat. Considering most of them are ugly, and their variants just differ by some paint stripes, they effectively work to dilute the REQ pool of items, just like the multiple Warthog and Mongoose skins. This overflow of useless items reduces the chances of unlocking decent things, forcing one to open more packs to receive what they want. To do this, one must either grind tediously, or bring out their credit card.
While the video may not be exactly on topic with the items the REQ pool contains, it is a funny satirical video outlining an annoying oversight in the system.
