Hi Everyone,
One change I would like to see made to the current REQ system is the addition of a REQ card cooldown. Here’s how I envision it:
- There are no changes to the existing card system in any way except for:
- When you use the last card of a certain type (Blaze of Glory, Narnfang, etc), instead of not being able to ever use that weapon again until you get another REQ card for it, instead it just starts a cooldown timer. The length of the timer can be directly tied to how powerful the weapon is to prevent Legendary REQs from becoming too powerful. Personally I’d be fine with up to a 24 hour cooldown on legendary REQ cards if need be.
I’m always scared to death of actually burning my only legendary card of a certain weapon, just in case I take that random death we all get from time to time right after I spawn. That fear prevents me from ever even using a legendary REQ, they just sit in my deck. I don’t think I’m alone in this either.
I think this would add a lot more legendary weapons to matches, and give people more exposure to how great a lot of weapons can be.

You still would be able to. The cooldown timer starts on when you burn your LAST nonfang. If you have 3 cards built up you can still use them in a row, but after you burn the last one instead of being out of luck until you get another random drop, you just wait 24 hours.
With this change you would get MORE nornfangs, just spread out over time.
This is a great idea, but I definitely think it should be limited to certified REQ’s.

Intresting, I’m not sure how exactly it could be abused, but we need to think about that.

i misunderstood this at first and was like “oh someone is gonna want the req system to take longer and not start counting til after their req dies” but than i read it and i was like “YES GOD PLEASE ADD THIS” i think it is stupid someone gets in a banshee, twirls around like a ballerina banshee bombing n evading. having to fight 3 of them and after you destroy 1 of them, they just call in another. they have like like “so much for trying, -Yoink- me right” so they have to use something else instead of just calling a banshee again after they die.
Yes please add this. force them to know be able to call out the same req over n over n over everything they die or go to a req station. make they have to have a cool down. this was a problem even before it made it easier to go up reqs, this still happened a lot. it was just even harder to stop them because it took longer for losing team to get countermeasures against them.

With this system they can still do that as long ad they have cards. OP’s idea is pretty much you always have 1 card of each certification + the otger temprary cards, but that 1 req is on a cooldown timer. All your other cards are free to use when you have the energy.
Not a bad idea but only if u have the certification for the weapon, shouldn’t work if you just get a random legendary item in a pack.

well they need to timer all of a certain kind. so SPNKr has a timer after use, Banshee has a timer after use. that will keep people from spawning a new one every time they die after they refresh.

I would agree this is the best way to go.
I also don’t think we necessarily need a general cool down timer. The existing buildup of REQ points already does that and keeps you from calling in powerful REQs back to back, at least to an extent.
I would love to get more input on this.

For example:
In one game, you can only call in a maximum of 5 weapons, 2 vehicles, and 5 power ups.
Also lower the limit maximum amount of vehicles that spawn.

If I want to pump out snipers or tanks why shouldn’t I be able to? Halo is not a everyone wins kind of game. Not sorry that I have nice reqs to use to get wins. If I was told no you cannot just get a new tank right after you die in one to keep up the pressure on the other team I would sit in the base until I could or not play warzone

Either a limit of how many they can call or the card counter doesnt cooldown til after its been destroyed, used up, despawned. and that it should go for all weapons/vehicles etc. so if you use a banshee, you have to wait until it cools down to use again so for the time being use a different vehicle. this will make people have to start pulling out more of the mantis n phaetons some are hiding if they aren’t using them.
